What are the three biggest issues in your campaign?
Your number one issue, and why?
Taxes - Increases are out pacing cost of living increases and
inreases in personal income raises.Being wasted on
outsideconsultants, the Indy car races also with the urban sprawl
taxes will have to increase to service the new suburbs.
city growth - we have to slow the urban sprawl as we have
available space to grow in the existing core and the more we
sprawlthe higher our taxes have to be raised.
Number two issue, and why?
Infrastructure - the cities infrastructure is grumbling around
us. Roads, sewer lines and city buildings are all about 10
years
behind in repairs or replacement, and this is not acceptable for
the capital city of our province.
Number three issue, and why?
City growth - this has got to be slowed to almost a halt as we
have plenty of available empty public land in the existing city
core tobe built on and old neighbourhoods to be renewed as well as
empty business space that has been vacated and are there for usto
incourage businesses back downtown with incentives if needed.
Which should be a higher spending priority for council, LRT
construction or road construction, and why?
Roads without road repairs/ resurfacing we will become at third
world city with no way of getting anywhere. Until car's and
truck'sare no longer needed roads will always be a priority.
City council has turned down a motion to hold a non-binding
plebiscite on keeping the City Centre Airport as a
general aviation facility. Should the new council reopen the
airport issue?
