What are the three biggest issues in your campaign?

Your number one issue, and why?West LRT: Initial feedback received from dialoging with citizens suggest that while they supportpublic transit and the LRT generally they are not convinced that this route is the best option.

Number two issue, and why?Crime: petty crime, vandalism, breakins remain a prominent particularly in the northern quadrantof the Ward, communities residing between Stony Plain Road and 111 Avenue.

Number three issue, and why?City Center Airport: Frequent comments have been received at the doors from citizens whoserved in the forces or have had affiliation personally with this city owned asset. Many believethere are development interests pushing the City to sell this prime land at a discount.

Which should be a higher spending priority for council - LRT construction or road

construction - and why?LRT constrction. Generally I would say LRT however as mentioned earlier the viablityof the Stony Plain Road route is subject to debate.Older neighbourhood roadways are

important and reinforce the importance of sustaining our investment in theNeighbourhood Renewal Program.

City council has turned down a motion to hold a non-binding plebiscite on keeping

the City Centre Airport as a general aviation facility. Should the new council

reopen the airport issue?Yes. I believe strongly that the public deserves a voice and vote in the sale of public utilities andlarge assets/infrastructure. The public hearing on the closure of the City Center Airport was themost biased public hearings I have ever witnessed. Administrative reports were compiled to

support closure, failing to provide any account of the revenue losses, associated costs andliabilities the City would incur for acquistion of the head and sub leases, environmental cleanup, other costs associated with development.

Of particular importance to me was the longstanding service this airport has provided to citizensof Edmonton, Alberta and the North for medevac services. No transitional plan has beenproduced on how patients will be accomodated at the international airport and what risks areassociated with rerouting medevacs there.

Oprah Winfrey: because I admire her global advocacy and charitable contributions on so manyissues.

Terry Fox: because of his determination and perserverance. He inspired and continues to inspireme along with millions of other people touched by cancer. He died too young.
