BACKGROUNDDuring late October and early November 2020, the University undertook an engagement strategy with users of the train station and the members of the local community. The purpose was to understand their thoughts on the amenity of the surrounding land (both within and outside the Callaghan Campus boundary) as well as name of the station.

Over 50%believed that the name Waraborrok Station explains the destination effectively, however they strongly preferred a name that incorporated the University in some way.

72.6% of participantssuggested incorporating the University into the station name with a strong preference for University Station Warabrook.
