BACKGROUND During late October and early November 2020, the University undertook an engagement strategy with users of the train station and the members of the local community. The purpose was to understand their thoughts on the amenity of the surrounding land (both within and outside the Callaghan Campus boundary) as well as name of the station. WARABROOK TRAIN STATION ENGAGEMENT RESULTS 310+ RESPONSES from staff, students and community members 88 RESPONSES via the survey 224 RESPONSES from intercept polling for a five day work week period 2,345 FLYERS distributed to households SURVEY RESPONSE Over 50% believed that the name Waraborrok Station explains the destination effectively, however they strongly preferred a name that incorporated the University in some way. 72.6% of participants suggested incorporating the University into the station name with a strong preference for University Station Warabrook.
