Interior Designer Greg Viljoen of Design-Lab presented us with a brief to wallpaper all the large walls in the open courtyard, apartment reception, lift lobby and parking entrance, of the new Woodstock Quarter.

T H E D E S I G N -�e objective was to create a feeling of jungle greenery, but without being too literal. Greg wanted this to be juxtaposed with a concrete e�ect, creatively executed to take in the uniqueness of the Woodstock area.

Our deconstructed concrete design entitled ‘Guarded’ was selected, coupled with a distinctively Cara Saven mural scene of tropical �ora with an etching style landscape background of a palm tree jungle. �e two designs were matched up by a very speci�c cool grey Pantone colour.

T H E E X E C U T I O N -�e complexity of the wall structures and elements we had to work around provided us with an opportunity to showcase how we are able to achieve a perfect installation, no matter the challenge.

Air vents, �re hydrants and hoses, air pipes, bulkheads and many doors were covered and worked around, ensuring a seamless �nish and perfect pattern match.

�e highly considered wall coverings are in keeping with the exceptional design standard of the Woodstock Quarter in totality.

Signtura is a leading property development company in South Africa. When they opened up their new Head Office in Green Point, Cape Town, they chose Andrea Graff to design their interiors. Andrea has been named as one of the top 10 interior designers in Africa.

T H E D E S I G N -�e objective was to create a professional setting that also had a vintage edge to it. Andrea chose a selection of our lithograph designs and asked us to create long running murals that could be wrapped around all the walls in the reception and open plan working areas. She requested an old dutch masters piece for the board room but requested that we adjust colours and positioning of trees to make it work with television screens and board room tables.

T H E E X E C U T I O N -Due to the nature of the o�ce and the fact that the wallpaper would live in public space areas, we used our seamless UV printed wallpaper to add to the continuous e�ect of the murals we had designed. We had to allow for working stations that had glass doors, �re cupboards and quite a few doorways.

�e result is an o�ce that feels modern but with a nod to the past. It is contemporary and has a handdrawn/ artistic element to it, making it unlike your usual corporate setting.

Francois Du Plessis Interiors was tasked with the interior design of this 130 bedroom aparthotel, plus all public spaces, which include 2 restaurants, pool, gym and bar.

Conveniently located opposite the Cape Town International Convention Centre, The Onyx, a harmonious blend of hotel and residential offerings, commands the attention of passers-by with its bold external features and keeps guests enthralled with its sophisticated internal finishes and its highly luxurious atmosphere. Onyx is similar in appearance to black sapphire; a rare, striking gemstone, which perfectly mirrors the property’s essence.

T H E D E S I G N -All the apartments/ hotel rooms at the Onyx look out onto the iconic Cape Town foreshore, so together with Francois, we decided to reference three landmarks that could be found within a 3 kilometer radius of this view. Professional photographs were taken and large, oversized wallpapers designed that appear abstract but on close inspection can be found within your view.

In the passages we continued the abstraction, with images found in nature and in the li� lobbies and pool area, we brought in colour with large oversized sea birds and lush foliage to create a more tropical feel and bring in the rich, jewel tones of the furniture.

T H E E X E C U T I O N -We chose to use our UV printed seamless wallpaper which is commercial type ll and perfect for hotel bedrooms due to its resilient nature and wipeable properties. �is same wallpaper was used in the pool area as it can withstand high levels of moisture and the odd splash of water.

�e Onyx Hotel has been featured in a number of magazines and publications thanks to the incredible work of Francois Du Plessis. It is also one of the most popular hotels in Cape Town due to its highly instagrammable interiors.

Onyx Apartment Hotel

Set on the wooded slopes above the valley of Hout Bay and in magnificent gardens, this luxury villa is considered one of Cape Town’s finest. Maison Noir showcases the work of some of South Africa’s most talented artists, designers and ceramists and so we felt very privileged when the award-winning team at Southern Guild asked us to be part of this project.

T H E D E S I G N -Choosing from our range of leaves and vintage designs, each space at Maison Noir has been carefully considered to pay tribute to its natural surroundings while at the same time, o�er the high end traveller with a place that feels warm and inviting. Rich tones of pinks and greens work beautifully with the warm wood cladding throughout and our wallpapers needed to work with the large amount of natural light that streams in through large windows and sky lights.

LUXURY VILLA Maison Noir

T H E E X E C U T I O N -We chose to use our seamless Vividtex wallpaper due to its richness of printing and luxurious texture. It is also extremely resilient and perfect to use in hotel-type environments. Our skilled team of installers worked together with the carpentry teams to ensure a seamless and professional �nish.

Maison Noir is part of the perfect hideaways collection of properties which o�ers travellers one-of-a-kind places. Maison Noir certainly is that.

Doppio Zero is a chain of over 22 restaurants and cafes in South Africa and Namibia. In 2019 the group opened a number of new branches and appointed the incredible team at Story Design Collective to complete the interior design of their new Nelspruit restaurant.

T H E D E S I G N -Story Design collective chose one of our existing designs, a vintage palm and asked us to recon�gure it to suit the speci�cs of the restaurant which had banquet seating and tiles and then wallpaper that crept up the wall and on to the ceiling. �eir aim was to create a tropical oasis in the hot and touristy hub of Nelspruit, which is the gateway to the Kruger National Park. We were also asked to help create customized mirrors with the same design on them.

T H E E X E C U T I O N -Our installation team travelled to site and executed the vision of the interior design team to perfection. Ceilings and walls were transformed with the use of our Vividtex, seamless wallpaper which is outstanding for high tra�c areas due to it being scratch proof and without joins that can sometimes li� over time.
