suggest 4 urban routes through which to discover Cubelles and its heritage.

WALKINGTOURS

THROUGHCUBELLES

After finishing the walk through the historic centre, from the Cubelles Castle, we head towards the beach along Passeig Narcís Bardají, the town’s former main thoroughfare, which connects the town centre with the rail line to Barcelona.

At the end of the street to our right, at the intersection with Carrer Estació, we find the house formerly owned by Dr Francesc Estapé Pañellas, cardiologist and director of the Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona. Further on towards the sea, just before crossing underneath the rail line, we can see the monument erected in 1977 in honour of Pau Casals and the Cubelles train station.

After crossing the underpass, we come to Plaça del Mar, where we find the monument in honour of the clown Charlie Rivel, one of the town’s most illustrious native sons, created by Guillermo Marín in 1980.

Further along, we come to Passeig Marítim, a seafront promenade that links the town’s beaches. A few metres to our right, connected by a series of wooden walkways, is the River Foix Estuary Protection Area, the ideal place to spend time observing the behaviour of the local birds amid nature.
