Kia ora whanau, It's hard to believe it is almost the end of week 6 already! Four more weeks of school to go! As excit-ing as it sounds, we still have much to do, and so many exciting opportunities for our children to be a part of! I would love to extend our collective thanks to Kim Jones, and her awesome support crew, for organising such a sterling line up of Athletics sports for all our children. Check out the list of names in the flyer this week! Super awesome to celebrate so many children from our school event, right through to Northern cluster. Other opportunities for our children to shine this term, include our Epro8 team - such a fabulous initi-ative to think outside the box, be curious and problem solve, surrounded by like minded people, un-der time pressure - woohoo! It was so lovely to be able to acknowledge individuals living out our val-ues at the Principals Assembly last week. We have such wee superstars amongst us! As the weather is heating up, we are hoping to have our pool up and running for the brave people who want to swim. Formal sessions will begin next year, with the opportunity to build confidence, have fun and experience water safety this term. The Board have kindly agreed to open the pool over the summer break for families who would like to use it during the day. This will be available for use when our Caretaker is onsite only. His hours and dates will be confirmed a bit later. Keys will be available from the office for $10 each, a bit closer to the end of term. Our behaviour data is looking good, and supports so many of the things teachers are working hard on in class, and also out in the playground. There will be niggles of course, human nature tells us this, but I am thrilled with the majority of children living out our values and sprinkling kindness like confetti. Happy weekend to your all! Nga mihi Briar

2019 DUFFY SUMMER READING $5 PARENT OFFER Offer has now closed. All orders will be back at school before the end of term.

HATS We are a SUNSMART school. Please ensure your child has a school hat to wear when outside between 10am and 4pm. Please teach your child to apply sunblock

before heading to school in the morning. We also have sunblock available at school.

SCHOLASTIC BOOKCLUB ISSUE 8 Issue 8 went home last week and closes on December 6.

PB4L News - Positive Behaviour for Learning. Have you noticed our new signage displaying our school values? We are so pleased that our PB4L

mahi is becoming so visible around the school. Keep an eye out - there is more to come! We are also celebrating our move from Tier 1 to Tier 2 within the PB4L framework. This will support our kura to continue developing our knowledge and understanding as we progress on our learning

and behaviour journey. Data feedback shows that the majority of our kids are doing the right thing, in the right place for the majority of the time. We are targeting support and teacher follow up in areas of need as identified in

our data - boys in particular account for the majority of incidents requiring follow up and we are working on ways to support our boys to make better choices, upholding our school values.

As always, we welcome your feedback as to what we can do to further embrace positive culture of our wonderful school. Feel free to touch base with your child’s teacher or

email [email protected]
