2-D Art Explorers, Grades 2 - 5Explore different ways to paint, draw, and print in this fun summer class. We will try different materials from paint and ink to oil pastels. Weʼll get a little messy and discover new ways to make texture and use lots of color in our artwork. There will be some-thing for everyone from beginners to more seasoned artists!

Wild About Clay, Grades 2 - 5Kids will take a walk on the wild side with an intro-duction to clay inspired by nature and animals! The class is an introduction to basic handbuilding skills to create functional and sculptural work in clay. Students will decorate and glaze their finished pieces.

Mugs, Bowls, and Plates, Grades 5 - 8Make creative and colorful dinnerware as you learn various clay techniques to create functional ceramic pieces like mugs, bowls, plates, and cups.

Metal Studio, Grades 7 - 9Explore a broad range of traditional metalsmithing techniques throughout this explorative week long workshop. Learn to cut and pierce copper & brass, hammer, texturize, and stamp letters, numbers, and designs into your metal. These pieces can be made into objects like bookmarks, ornaments and sculpture or formed and hammered into jewelry like cuff bracelets and rings. We will also explore wire working, oxida-tion, and adding color through epoxy pigments.Once you get started working in metals you won't want to stop!

Photo Studio, Grades 7 - 9Have fun with digital photography! Students will learn basic camera functions and work in small groups photographing different subjects. We will discuss what basic equipment is needed for photography and create some of our own lighting with everyday objects. Students will learn how to get digital images from a camera to a computer and our afternoons will be focused on editing techniques. Students will take home a finished print at the end of the week. Students are strongly encouraged to bring their own digital camera from home.

Stop Motion Animation, Grades 5 - 8Students will work together to create short animation projects with food, toys, and claymation. In creating these projects, students will learn a little bit about character development, lighting, and video editing. Students should bring a phone or tablet with the app “Stop Motion Studio” installed to create and save movies on their own devices.
