Description
I received a letter from Getty Images stating that I had violated US copyright law, title 17 due to the unlicensed usage of photo images on my website. There were six images in questions, all of which I have removed from my site. They are demanding anywhere from $80.00 per photo to $1065.00 per image. They did not supply any substantiating documentation validating that they in fact own these images. I found these images in the public domain with no watermark or copyright attachment to any of them. I sent them an email immediately apologizing and requesting a number to call. Since then, I've gone online and found a website that recommended I file a complaint with you as the company is located in Seattle. The complaints against this company are voluminous. I have a letter ready to send certified mail requesting they provide backup documentation as to their legal rights to these photos. But will wait until I hear back from you.The letter is 9 pages, not including the screen shots, but I can scan and upload if you need it.
