    Materials: Cascade Yarns Souk : 55% Silk / 45% Wool 220 yds. color #13 Forest

    Jacket 7 (7, 8) skeins; Tam 1 skeinSize #8 needles

    Size H crochet hook

    2 fasteners , yarn needle, sewing needle & thread for fasteners

    Gauge: 4 sts = 1 in garter stch

    NOTE: It is suggested that a square of the size desired be made and

    steamed to check gauge. The yarn varies in texture and slight variaons can occur.

    Measurements: 36 ( 40, 44) (at bust), length: 22 (25,27 )

    Squares for small 4 , Med. 5, Large 5

    Abbreviaons: K = knit P = purl YO = yarn over sl = slip

    st = stch K3 tog = knit 3 together rep = repeat

    PM = place marker g-st = garter st (knit every row)

    inc = increase dec = decrease

    Sts = stches c/o = cast on

    beg = beginning

    RSC = reverse single crochet (work from le to right)

    Mitered Squares:

    4 Square: Cast on 39 sts. Start at Row 13 of 5 Square. (37 sts) (Knit 37)

    5 Square: Cast on 43 sts. Start at Row 7 of 5 Square. (43 sts) (Knit 43)

    5 Square: Cast on 47 sts.

    Row 1: And all odd rows, Knit.

    Row 2: K23, K3tog, K23. (47 sts)

    Row 4: K22, K3tog, K22. (45 sts)

    Row 6: K21, K3tog, K21. (43 sts)

    Make 64 squares in size given above for size jacket size desired. Steam to size desired before sewing togeth-

    er. Squares for small 4 , Med. 5, Large 5

    Sew squares together as shown with the diagonal line indicang the direcon of the squares for the back.

    Sew the right front and le front as shown using half the chart . NOTE: a stealthy maress stch seam can be

    made by inserng the needle into the side of the edges to be sewn together rather than from the top

    through to the back, and wont show when the collar is turned back. (The collar is made when the tops of

    the fronts are folded forward.)

    Steam squares as needed to even up squares.

    Sew the fronts to the back, working across 3 squares from sleeve edge leaving 2 squares open at back of

    neck. Sew side seams.

    Center front

    Jacket Edging

    Collars: Starng at neck edge shoulder seam and wrong side facing of Le front, work RSC across top and

    down 2 squares of center front. (Where fronts will meet) End o.

    Work RSC on Right front starng at center front and working up to neck edge and over to shoulder seam.

    (Right side of RSC will be out when collar is turned back)

    Body: Work around remainder of jacket from the right side in RSC.

    Weave in all ends.

    Sew fasteners to fronts.

    The two horizontal lines represent where the fasteners go at the center of the fronts.

    Row 9: *K4, k* rep from * around. (36 sts)

    Row 11: *K5, k* rep from * around. (42 sts)

    Row 13: *K6, k* rep from * around. (48 sts)

    Row 15: *K7, k* rep from * around. (54 sts)

    Row 17: *K8, k* rep from * around. (60 sts)

    Row 19: *K9, k* rep from * around. (66 sts)

    Tam may be blocked over a dinner plate if desired.
