OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:

Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) is an active user of IBM’s enterprise asset management software Maximo and has recently expanded its integration throughout the entire organization including: facility performance maintenance, inventory management, airfield operations and terminal operations.

WASCO is seeking an independent, motivated and energetic candidate to fill a new and evolving role of Operations Technical Specialist. As Operations Technical Specialist you will become the subject matter expert in Maximo and will support work collaboratively with WAA department managers and front-line staff to develop customized configurations and interface modules to facilitate the front-line user experience and drive innovation and efficiency.

Our ideal candidate is an operationally minded engaging individual who can work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to identify workflow and data management efficiencies who can champion Maximo within the organization. We are recruiting for attitude and will provide the requisite training to become subject matter expert. No software programming expertise is required; however, candidates should be computer literate with familiarization of various software and data systems. Background in aviation is considered an asset.

WASCO is seeking detail-oriented individuals who demonstrate flexibility, initiative, have the ability to work independently, with superior written and verbal communication skills. This position will be based at the Corporate headquarters for WASCO at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Through training, become subject matter expert and enterprise champion for Maximo

• Participate in training, seminars and conferences provided by IBM, WAA’s consultant and Maximo community to offer WAA teams new solutions and features

• Liaise with WAA 3rd party Maximo consultant and senior developers

• Collaborate with management, front-line staff and subject matter experts to asses and identify continuous improvement opportunities to the user interface, data and functionality

• Interpret operations SOP’s, maintenance manuals and contracts and translate into Maximo business objects

• Create and configure Users, User Groups and Start Centre templates for different groups

• Work collaboratively with management and front-line users to identify, implement and monitor KPI’s including the development of KPI performance dashboards

• Lead Maximo Super User Group

• Provide on-site support to end users

• Identify and promote business needs that could be integrated in Maximo

• Develop training material for both end users and super users

• Prepare training documents and host or assist with training including train-the-trainer concepts

• Maintain, grow and innovate corporate knowledge of Maximo features and upgrades and offer new solutions to implement other modules as business requirements evolve

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed post-secondary degree or certificate program

• Fluent in English with strong verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills

• Vibrant and approachable personality with a desire to engage and stimulate group dialogue

• Customer service and business development oriented

• Appetite for change, innovation, efficiency and technology

• Experience in creating, interpreting and documenting technical information and training materials

• Strong computer literacy skills with a high degree of proficiency in multiple software systems including Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access)

• Ability to be flexible, work independently and self-manage deadlines

• Previous experience with Maximo considered an asset

• Previous experience in aviation or a similar dynamic operational environment considered an asset

• Must retain and maintain Transport Canada security clearance (Restricted Area Identity Card)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Based out of the WASCO corporate officers at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, the Operations Technical Specialist will at times be required to collaborate with front-line staff in active work environments such as airside and in the baggage system. The Operations Technical Specialist also may be required to travel for training programs, seminars and conferences.
