BAPTISM (in English): Parents wishing to have their child baptized are asked to make an appointment with the Pastor. Please bring the child’s birth certificate. Baptisms in English are on Saturdays at 11:00 AM. CONFESSIONS: Confessions are heard before each of the Masses on Sunday: 8:30 to 8:55 AM, 10:00 to 10:25 AM (in Spanish), and 11:25 to 11:55 AM, or by appointment in the rectory. PARISH GROUP SIGN-UP SHEET
Dear Parishioners, A friend in Newport, VT used to sing a song whose first line went like this, “No one can live as an island
journeying through life alone.” This line reminds me of the fact that we need friendship, solidarity and cooperation. The Church has always been known as a community of believers. In the Acts of the Apostles we are reminded that “the community of believers was of one heart and mind” (Acts 4:32). That is to say, no community is functional without cooperation and associations. In essence, let us join our hands to develop and to uphold the spirituality, diversity and functionality of our parish.
As a child, I was a member of the Marian Sodality and we used to sing, “Jesus has no hands but ours, Jesus has no legs but ours…” Let us act for Jesus through our personal involvement in the parish life. That is my intention and reason for writing this message. I highly recommend and encourage all to join one of our many faithful groups our parish offers. It is your presence, good will, generosity and cooperation that guides and makes our Shrine Church of Our Lady of Solace.

INSCRIPCIÓN A GRUPOS PARROQUIALES
Estimados Parroquianos, Un amigo de Newport, VT solía cantar una canción cuya primera línea decía así: "Nadie puede vivir como
una isla que viaja solo por la vida". Esta línea me recuerda el hecho de que necesitamos amistad, solidaridad y cooperación. La Iglesia siempre ha sido conocida como una comunidad de creyentes. En los Hechos de los Apóstoles se nos recuerda que "la comunidad de creyentes era de un solo corazón y mente" (Hechos 4:32). Es decir, ninguna comunidad es funcional sin cooperación y asociaciones. En esencia, unamos nuestras manos para desarrollar y mantener la espiritualidad, diversidad y funcionalidad de nuestra parroquia.
Cuando era niño, yo era miembro de la Sodalidad Mariana y solíamos cantar: "Jesús no tiene más manos que la nuestra, Jesús no tiene piernas, excepto la nuestra ..." Actuemos por Jesús a través de nuestro compromiso personal en la vida parroquial. Esa es mi intención y razón para escribir este mensaje. Recomiendo y animo a todos a unirse a uno de nuestros muchos grupos fieles que nuestra parroquia ofrece. Es tu presencia, buena voluntad, generosidad y cooperación lo que guía y hace nuestra Iglesia Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Solaz.
