It’s December, Park Campus families! DEEECEMBER! This is the
month when the kids stay home for 2 weeks. When snow falls.
When we celebrate family, festivals of lights, and when it feels better
to give than to receive.
Our Pie Drive coordinated by Market Day was a success. We
were able to donate 49 pies to the PLAN Food Pantry in Round Lake
Beach. Thank you for helping us achieve the generous donation. The Mitten Tree is now
standing tall in the office. Please take a moment to visit the tree and help make a contribution to a Park
Campus family in need.
Wait, there’s a couple more ways for you to still give to your PTO and school this holiday season....let’s show our
appreciation for our TEACHERS. Visit our website (http://www.parkcampuspto.com) to see what your child’s
teacher wants or needs this year and help them check things off their classroom lists (or learn what their favorite
store/restaurant is)! A link is available on our home page. Copies of their wish lists are also available in the main
office. Lastly, the PTO needs help gathering donations for the raffle and silent auction at our annual Valentine
Dinner Dance held in February. If you have anything you can contribute from a sporting event ticket or timeshare
access to a new toy or good/services from your business...it will all be very much appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered at or attended the Holiday Shop and Winter Wonderland!

time watching Gingerbread Baby, hearing the story of the Gingerbread Man, playing games, making crafts, having hot chocolate and cookies, getting some shopping done at the Holiday Shop and
yes - having a “snowball” fight. Who wouldn’t have a blast participating in a “snowball” fight with paper balls and their friends -
complete with forts for shelter! Thank you to all the volunteers that made this night wonderful and memorable!

9:30-11:00am. If you already paid for your order online, take advantage of the drive up service. Just tell the volunteers your name and they bring it to your car. No need to go out in this cold weather - or even change out of your PJs!

MITTEN TREE 12.16.13The Mitten Tree is now in the main office. Please consider helping a family at Park School Campus this holiday season. In addition
to the usual mittens that help you buy gifts for Park families, you can also find stars on the tree. These stars can be used to make monetary donations to a Family in Need fund. This fund helps needy Park students throughout the year - from going on field trips
with their classmates to getting the books and supplies they desperately need and much more. The gift of giving never goes out of style. Please return all mittens and stars by Monday,
December 16th. Families will receive their gifts on December 19th and 20th.
SPIRITWEAR ORDERSThank you for all your Spiritwear orders! Items will be delivered to your child’s classroom the week of Dec. 16th (unless other
arrangements have been made). There are a few items available for immediate delivery on our website (http://www.parkcampuspto.com) - check it out! A huge thank you to the Rowe family for donating our new baseball caps!

11/2 - Market DayThank you to all of our families that continue to use Market Day to not only put delicious food on your tables, but help raise funds for our school too! Park earned approximately $300 from the November sale. In
addition, we were able to deliver 49 pies, just in time for the holidays, to the PLAN Food Pantry in Round Lake Beach. Thank you to all the families that participated in the Pie Drive last month.
11/7 - Birthday BreakfastStudents in grades 1-5 enjoyed celebrating their November birthdays with Mr. Melamed and Mr. Dinsmore!
11/15 - Science NightOur first Science Night was a HUGE success! The kids had a great time creating slime, blasting off rockets, making toothpaste explode, and much more while learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. A
HUGE thanks to all the volunteers! We couldn’t have run 14 experiments without everyone’s help! Thank you also to Kumon in Grayslake for continuing to support us with their generous donations. Last, but certainly not least, thank you to the the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for partnering
with us to help plan a fantastic event for the kids and donating many of the supplies needed for the experiments.
11/19 - General PTO MeetingThank you to all the teachers, staff, and parents that came out to our second general PTO meeting! We LOVE hearing from you! Missed it? Join us for our next general meeting on Tuesday, January 21 at 7pm.
11/21 - Family Reading NightThank you to our FANTASTIC reading team for organizing another family reading night and all the WONDERFUL teachers and staff for participating in it! This year’s theme was fractured fairy tales. The teachers and staff did
a great job making the stories come to life! It was truly entertaining! There are way too many “highlights” from the night to name here, but everyone definitely enjoyed seeing Mr. Melamed play Little Red Riding Hood. Congratulations to all the raffle winners and thank you to all the
staff for inviting the PTO to be a part of this great night. We had a great time acting out our version of Goldilocks and Three Bears!
12/3 - 12/6 - Holiday ShopThe kids LOVED picking out gifts for everyone on their lists. It was fun to hear all their explanations of why they picked what they did for their families! Thank you to all our wonderful parent, Student Council, and Leader of the Pack volunteers. Thank you also to all the teachers for your
patience as the children made some really hard decisions on what they could purchase and stay within their budget. The kids learned some really important economic lessons this week, while making lasting memories!
12/4 - Winter WonderlandThank you for coming out to support the PTO and have some fun with your friends and teachers. We wish you a happy holiday season!

Our annual Valentine Dinner Dance/Raffle is Friday, February 7th. Help us put together another great set of raffle prizes! Last year, we were able to raffle off a Wisconsin Dells getaway, American Girl Doll of the Year, a ride to school in a fire truck, gift cards, arts & crafts baskets ,and many, many more. Do you have anything you can donate? Maybe you have a vacation home or timeshare that you could donate time at? Maybe you received some gift cards or sporting event tickets this holiday season that you would be willing to donate? Or maybe your business or employer could donate goods or services? How about free tax preparation? Or landscaping or house cleaning for a month? Maybe a manicure or haircut? We are a registered nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax deductible!!

1. By clipping Box Tops coupons from brands like these >> you can help us earn hundreds of dollars! Just look for the logo on your favorite grocery brands. Simply clip them at home and send them in to the school. We’ll do the rest! You can also get us great rewards from Box Tops and Hanes! 2. Sign up for and use a TARGET Debit REDcard. This card couldn’t be easier! Ask for the simple application at the checkout or Customer Service desk. You can complete it in store or online at home.
