Amended 8.28.20
Dear CCHS Community, I am pleased to share with you Camden Catholic’s reopening plan for the coming academic year. The overallapproach we have taken is D.I.M.: develop a plan, implement a plan and maintain a plan that enables us to returnfull time while doing all that we can to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 and ensure that the safety and well-being ofour entire community is at the forefront of our efforts.
The foundation of this plan is built upon the guidance of the CDC, state & local agencies, the American Academy ofPediatrics, the diocesan Office of Catholic Schools, the expertise of medical and health & safety personnel and ofcourse, our reliance on our good God to sustain and protect us in all things.
Please allow me to stress that this plan will be effective if all of us do our part. A collaborative effort is the best wayto assure that we can safeguard our community. I cannot stress this point enough. There will be many things thatwe will need to do this year that are unlike any we’ve experienced in the past because we are experiencingchallenges unlike any we’ve experienced before. Some of the requirements may seem burdensome andbothersome, but following the science of the viral parameters and what must be done to lessen its impact is theduty and responsibility of each of us, so I thank you in advance for your patience and willingness to do your part infighting this pandemic.
I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the executive Task Force and the teams that have contributed to thisplan. The expertise, time and effort has been nothing short of astonishing and on behalf of our entire community, Ithank them. Also, I’d like to thank our school administration for their diligence and unceasing efforts. In terms ofadded work load and hours, this summer has been unlike any other. In addition to the herculean task of navigatingthrough this issue so that we can develop a plan that will enable us to return with safety and assurance, theadministration has had to complete the typical summer preparations that are done every year. They have foregonefamily time, vacations and have gone above and beyond, and have done all of it for the benefit of the entire CCHScommunity. I want to be sure that this fact is acknowledged. I thank the teachers, coaches and others who havebeen patient with the ever-changing landscape of this pandemic. I thank Dr. Watson and the Office of CatholicSchools for their guidance and direction. Lastly, I thank parents, guardians and all of our families for theirunderstanding and trust.
Finally, I urge all of us to continue to work together, be faithful, patient and respectful. It is easy to post a socialmedia opinion or make a statement on what we disagree with in the plan, and I’m sure that not everyone may agreeon every part of it. However, I ask that you ask before you speak. If you have a question or concern, we haveprovided a forum for you so please utilize this tool. Please get the correct information of all aspects of yourconcern. Please take the necessary time to read this plan and discuss it with your student so that we can beproactive in its implementation and maintenance as we begin this new academic year. We will try our very best toaddress all concerns quickly and accurately. We are all in this together!
Once again, I thank you and all those involved in this effort. Please be assured of my personal commitment and thatof everyone at CCHS to ensure that the safety and well-being of our students, teachers, staff, administrators and allconnected with our community is at the forefront of our efforts so that we can provide the stellar Catholic-Christianeducation for which CCHS is known. Sincerely, Rev. Joseph P. CapellaRector, Camden Catholic High School

Catholic schools provide a unique environment in which we consistently model Gospel values and Church
teachings and traditions in the image of Jesus Christ. All students experience an academically challenging
curriculum that helps them to grow closer to God by learning about themselves as created in God’s image and
likeness and therefore prepares them to succeed at every level. At Camden Catholic High School, our mission is
to form “young men and women spiritually, academically, socially, and physically in a faith community.”
We believe that this mission is best carried out when students, faculty, and staff can be together, in person, as a
Catholic community. This belief was reinforced by the majority of parents from our community, who
expressed a desire for their children to be back in school to experience the benefits of Catholic education. We
therefore set a goal of opening our school for the 2020-2021 school year so that all students have the
opportunity to attend school in person every day, if they are able to do so safely. Current government
guidelines, collected data and expert guidance on the status of Covid-19 in our community indicate that, with
proper precautions, we will be able to meet that goal in a safe and healthy manner. We also recognize that
some families have members with special circumstances that prevent them from returning to school in person.
We will have a remote learning option available for those families.
We have developed this MTSS (Multi Tiered Systems Support) plan to help navigate us in the return to onsite
learning at our school so that employees, students, and families feel safe and to reduce the potential impact
that Covid-19 may have on our community. It is expected that as the Covid-19 pandemic continues, new
guidance may mean that aspects of this plan will need to be updated or changed. Therefore, regular updates
will be made to this plan based on information provided by local public health officials, CDC, WHO, and
applicable federal, state and local agencies. We will inform all members of the school community of changes as
soon as they occur.
Camden Catholic High School’s Administrative Team and the Return to School Task Force have actively been
working on our plan to re-open our school building for September 2020. With the guidance of the Office of
Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Camden, the plan at CCHS is for all students to have the opportunity to
return to school in September for full-time in person instruction. Guided by our mission, our goal remains to
provide our students with a top-quality education rooted in Catholic values. This remains our commitment to
our CCHS community. We look forward to continuing that education, in-person, in the school year to come.

1. The sustained safety and well-being of students and school employees are our primary concerns. We will do
what we must so that everyone in our school may return with confidence that CCHS is committed to this
endeavor.
2. Clear and regular communication between school and families will be critical in ensuring that the reopening
of our school building is smooth and that we maintain a safe and healthy school environment.
3. We commit ourselves to continue to do everything possible to reopen and sustain our school environment in
order to provide a faith-filled, academically rigorous education in a safe and timely manner that is
consummate with the guidance received from the expertise of many professionals in various fields.
4. The future of COVID-19 infections remains unpredictable, and there is the potential that school buildings
must be closed again if a significant rise in cases were to occur. All of us working together on all of these
protocols is crucial for our school to remain open.
5. In a spirit of cooperation, we respectfully ask and expect our families to take personal responsibility for the
common good of our community as well as their own safety.
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted every aspect of our lives and has left a mark on Catholic education. Camden
Catholic High School quickly evolved in the spring using the creativity, ingenuity, and dedication of our faculty to
maintain quality education for our students that is true to our mission. We have received constructive comments for
improvement from our families, and we have made adjustments in response to their feedback. It is our intent to safely
reopen our school building to all families this fall and the following information lays out how we plan to do just that.
This plan identifies key areas we have concentrated on to safely reopen.
In addition to these principles, our school is a Catholic community. As such, we are used to depending on one another.
The school leadership is committed to do their part in order for this plan to be effective. However, it is important that
each parent, teacher, student, and member of the school community take seriously our responsibilities to one
another. All individuals will be asked to take steps that protect their health and the health and well being of others. The
plan will have the best opportunity for success when we all work together – when we all respond to Jesus’s commandment
to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

The public health, state, and diocesan guidelines support the opening of school for full time in person
instruction in September 2020. We feel that it is optimal and essential for our students to be in the school
building not only for consistent academic instruction, but also to experience the entirety of a Catholic-
Christian formation. Being present in school will continue to provide students with an opportunity to grow
spiritually, academically, socially and emotionally. We believe that it is in our students’ best interest to be in
school each day in order for them to maximize their growth and potential in a safe, healthy environment.

What we do not know aboutopening our school building:
We do not know how, if, or when the guidelines in the state or the diocese will change. Our daily practice will
be guided by the health officials with whom we work. Our goal is to maintain in person education for the
entire school year. This will be guided by the data provided by the state as well as the Diocese of Camden. Our
faculty and administration are prepared to adjust to other educational plans if guidelines change toward
hybrid or remote learning.

Since June 15, 2020, the Task Force to Re-Open CCHS has been meeting weekly to address the plans and
protocol that needs to be put in place to safely re-open our school building. Additionally, each member serves
on a particular team that gathers professional guidance for their assigned portion so that it may be evaluated
and integrated into our plan. We are fortunate to have a talented group of individuals who have dedicated
their time to CCHS. We would also like to thank the many experts in various disciplines beyond the
membership of the Task Force who have assisted us and offered their guidance. Many of our alumni and
friends have contributed their expertise to our endeavor and in the “spirit of the Irish” that is unique to CCHS,
they remain available to assist us throughout this experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Task Force to Re-Open CCHS has reviewed guidance from various agencies as we plan for the opening of
school. In short, the following protocol will be in place:
1. All faculty, staff, and students will be required to wear a mask daily. A face shield may be worn with a mask, but a
shield does not replace a mask. Gaiters are not allowed to serve as masks. All will be encouraged to wash hands
several times a day.
2. Class size will be reduced to allow for social distancing in classrooms. Social distancing with masks is considered
appropriate at 3-6 feet. Desks will be spaced 4 feet apart in classrooms. We are also transforming our Freshman
Physical Education classes to Health and Wellness classes to eliminate the daily use of locker rooms.
3. In order to minimize congregating in hallways, students will not be assigned lockers and will be permitted to
carry backpacks. They will be encouraged not to share any materials.
4. Students will be instructed on one way movement in the hallways and use of stairways. They will be instructed to
follow the directional signs.
5. An additional lunch period has been added to reduce capacity in the Pisa Dining Hall, and seating will be
arranged to maintain social distancing. We will be using the Tom Kenney Gymnasium as a second lunch location.
Cleaning of these common areas will occur after every lunch period.
6. Students will be properly screened with a daily temperature check. Directions for students screenings are
included in this manual.
7. Additional hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the building. Classrooms will have hand sanitizer
and sanitizing wipes. Students should bring their own sanitizer, tissues, and sanitizing wipes for personal use
during the day.
8. Sharing devices, books, supplies, etc. is not permitted. If students must do so in an emergency, the objects must
be wiped before any exchange of items. All classroom supplies (i.e. lab equipment and art materials) will be cleaned
after each use.
9. Administration will maintain communication with local and state authorities to determine current mitigation
levels in our community.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
In keeping with our duty to protect one another, multiple forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be
used. Some forms of PPE, such as cloth masks, contribute to health by protecting others from any sickness that the
wearer has, even if they do not know they have it. It is important that all members of the school community
work together to do their part because all forms of PPE are more effective when every member of the
community uses them at the same time. Gaiters are not allowed to be used in place of masks. 2
Students will be required to wear the mask at any time they are closer than six feet to any other person. This
includes while entering and exiting the building, moving between rooms in the school (e.g., between the classroom
and the restroom), and moving about within a classroom. Students will not be admitted to the building without
a mask.
All students will be required to wear a mask correctly all day, including while in class. Masks are worn correctly
when they cover both the nose and mouth. Students will be able to remove their masks at the following times:
Students will have desk barriers to use in each of their classes. Each family will be responsible for providing
appropriately sized masks for their students. Each student should have an extra mask with them at school at all
times. Masks must be a solid color or a disposable mask. Students must have an extra mask with them at all times
in the event that their mask is soiled during the school day. Disposable masks will be available during the day if
needed.
All faculty, administration, staff, and other adults in the school building during the day will be required to wear a
cloth face mask. Camden Catholic High School has installed additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the
building and on the athletic fields. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use these stations and frequently
wash their hands.

SCREENING
Identifying students, faculty, and staff who may be sick is a critical component of keeping the entire school
community healthy. Identification begins before students arrive at school and continues with vigilance throughout
the school day. Screening and response to symptoms require faithful citizenship and partnership between parents
and the school, with all school community members doing their part to identify potential sickness and respond
respectfully, swiftly, and confidentially.
Screening at Home:
All parents will be expected to screen their children at home for symptoms of COVID-19 and to take their
temperature to ensure that they do not have a fever over 100.4° F. If children have a fever or exhibit symptoms that
are not explained by other conditions, then they should stay at home. Students are expected to be fever free for
more than 72 hours without the use of any fever reducing medication. Classes will be available online for any
student who must stay home due to illness.

Students who arrive at school by bus will be expected to follow all directives of bus drivers while en route to school.
Students will be expected to wear a face covering while on the bus for the entire time that they are on the
bus. CCHS is working with local school districts to determine the district’s decision to provide transportation or aid
in lieu of transportation. School districts notify families about transportation at the beginning of August.
VISITOR POLICY
CCHS will be limiting all visitors to campus to appointment only. We will be asking that school business be
conducted virtually or by phone. Students must be responsible for their daily belongings and parents are
discouraged from dropping forgotten items off at school. All visitors to the school will be required to provide their
name and contact information and will be required to wear a cloth mask, have a temperature check, and maintain
social distance while on the premises at all times. Some of our regular community activities will be conducted

Camden Catholic High School is taking precautions to limit the transmission of sickness, especially COVID-19,
including the use of personal protective equipment, social distancing, and enhanced personal hygiene and facilities
cleaning protocols, as described in the rest of this guide. However, we recognize that some students and/or staff
may still show symptoms of COVID-19, or students, employees, or their family members might be exposed to or test
positive for COVID-19. Our response follows guidelines established by the CDC and followed by the Camden County
Department of Public Health.

Students, employees, and any other adults in the school will enter an isolation area if they show symptoms of
COVID-19.
All students, employees, and other adults in the isolation area will wear a mask and gloves and maintain a 6
foot distance from each other as practically as possible.
A parent, guardian, or authorized adult will be called to pick up any student who shows symptoms of COVID-
19. Pickup must be within 60 minutes of call.
Students will be isolated safely and respectfully, with continued supervision and care and respect for their
privacy, until an authorized adult can pick them up. The isolation area will be thoroughly disinfected after it is
used by symptomatic students or employees.
If symptoms appear after the school day has begun, the teacher and students will wash their hands thoroughly
and immediately, the classroom or workspace of the student or employee will be thoroughly cleaned and
disinfected, and the class will meet in an alternate location for the rest of the day.
The Camden County Public Health Officer will be notified that an individual with symptoms that are
potentially due to COVID-19 has been sent home. This contact will be made confidentially to protect the
individual. The County Public Health Officer will advise the school about whether or not any additional steps,
such as asking other students to self-quarantine, need to be taken. It is important to understand that such
decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, depending on the circumstances. Not every case of an individual
with symptoms that are potentially due to COVID-19 will lead to self-quarantine for other individuals, a class,
or the school.
Parents will be contacted with basic information about any symptomatic individuals if the school is advised to
do so by the public health officer. All information will protect the privacy of the individual(s) involved.
Students and staff who show symptoms that could be attributed to COVID-19 will be advised to seek the advice
of a physician about whether isolation is necessary.
Response to Students and Employees who Show Symptoms of COVID-19:
Any adult or student who shows symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival at school or at any time while they are in the
school building will enter a protocol to protect them and other members of the school community that will result in
their leaving the school building as soon as practicable.
14
If the student has a COVID-19 test, and the test is negative, then the student may return to school
after they are fever free without fever reducing medication for 72 hours and other symptoms
disappear.
If the student has a COVID-19 test, and the test is positive, then the student may return to school
after following the guidance of their local public health department. This will generally be after 3
days with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications AND respiratory symptoms have
improved AND 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
If the student does not have a COVID-19 test and is determined to have a sickness other than
COVID-19 by a physician, then the student may return to school with a written clearance from a
physician.
Isolation due to COVID-19 Symptoms:
Students or staff may be advised to isolate by a physician or a public health official because their
symptoms are new and cannot be explained by another condition. Isolation refers to staying home and
away from others because of symptoms that may be due to COVID-19. An individual who is advised to
isolate will be permitted to return to school in any of the following circumstances:
Any employee or student who is absent due to symptoms that could be attributed to COVID-19 for 3
days or more, including those sent home from school, must have a physician’s clearance to return to
the school and must be fever free for 72 hours, without fever-reducing medication, before returning to
school.

Students or staff may be advised to self-quarantine by a physician or a public health official because
they have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Self-quarantine refers to staying home
and away from others because you might develop symptoms of COVID-19 or might have
asymptomatic but contagious COVID-19. It is important to understand that such recommendations to
self-quarantine will be made by a public health official or a physician on a case-by-case basis,
depending on the circumstances.

If the self-quarantine is due to a contact with someone you will not encounter again, then you may
return to school 14 days after the contact, or with a negative COVID-19 test.
If the self-quarantine is due to a positive COVID-19 test for anyone who lives in the household, then
the quarantine likely will be longer.
If you can avoid contact with the person (for example, they are isolated in their bedroom), then
the length of the self-quarantine will be calculated as 14 days from the date that person began
isolation.
If you cannot avoid contact with the person, then the length of the self-quarantine will be 14 days
from the end of that person’s isolation.
Self-Quarantine:
Students who are advised to self-quarantine by a physician or a public health official are expected to stay
in the home for 14 days. Families must notify the school. The 14-day count will generally begin on the day
of potential exposure to COVID-19, as advised by a public health official, even if the individual does not
begin self-quarantine immediately. Students who do not show symptoms during this period will be
expected to participate in school remotely.
In all cases, an individual who is advised to self-quarantine will only be permitted to return to
school when cleared by a doctor to do so.

Attendance:The overall attendance policy for Camden Catholic remains the same in terms of notification, absences, lateness, and excessive attendance. A student’s attendance of the day is based on homeroom attendance. Homeroomattendance will be determined differently based on a student being present in the building or being presentvirtually.
Students attending school in the building will be marked present or absent in their classes. Homeroom attendancewill have variables of present, absent, tardy or early dismissals based on each student’s daily attendance. Studentsattending Camden Catholic virtually will be marked PV- present virtually, or they will be absent in all their classes. Their homeroom attendance will be recorded at the end of the day based on their individual class attendancerecord. If they were marked absent in two to four classes they will be recorded as a half day absence. If they weremarked absent in five or more classes they will be recorded as a full day absence.
No matter if a student is attending Camden Catholic High School in the building or is attending virtually, ALLabsences must be called in to the Attendance office at 856- 663-2247 Ext 124. Parents or guardians will need toidentify the specific reason for the absence in this COVID-19 environment. A reason of “not feeling well” will needadditional follow up by Camden Catholic to assess COVID symptoms for the health and safety of our schoolcommunity.
The general rule is, “If you feel sick, stay home.” This is an important area for partnership between parents andschools. We expect all parents to follow the Health and Safety procedures in this manual.
All students who are absent from school because they show COVID-19 symptoms should visit a physician. Students who are absent for medical reasons, including COVID-19 symptoms, will be required to have awritten clearance from a physician to return to school.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 or someone they have had contact with tests positive for COVID-19, youwill be advised to keep your child home for at least 14 days. Please follow the guidelines under “Part II - ManagingPotential Sickness.” In these situations, students will be able to join classes and complete work virtually if they arewell enough to do so, and will be recorded as present virtually or absent based on class attendance.
Families who travel out of state will need to check the NJ travel advisory list before returning to school to determineif the student needs to self quarantine for 14 days. Parents will need to notify the school of the self quarantine. Students in quarantine due to travel to a location on the NJ advisory list will be expected to attend school remotely.

In-Person Learning 3/1: Students will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will take turnslearning remotely for 1 week rotations then 3 weeks in school. 1 Modified In Person Learning: All students are invited to campus five days a week for school, but remote learning is made available for those students who need to stay home for healthreasons Hybrid Learning: If the restrictions become greater, CCHS is prepared to move to a hybridlearning model where students will learn both in person and remotely based on a set schedule Complete Remote/Virtual Learning: In the event that CCHS must close at any point duringthe school year, all students will move to remote learning
Academic excellence is a hallmark of Catholic schools. We are implementing some changes to ourinstruction for the 2020-2021 school year based on what we learned during the 2019-2020 schoolyear. The intent of the changes is to maximize student learning, regardless of the context. Ourexpectation is that most students will be in classrooms, onsite for the 2020-2021 school year. However, students who are advised to isolate due to COVID-19 symptoms or self-quarantine due toCOVID-19 exposure will learn remotely for short durations, and some might learn remotely forlonger periods. It is also possible that the progression of COVID-19 in our community and/or in thestate may require us to transition to remote learning temporarily as we did last year. Theinstructional plan leverages technology so that instruction and learning are as fluid andtransferable as possible between in-classroom and remote learning.

Students will follow their regular school schedules.
Students will have live meetings with teachers on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays.
On Wednesday, lessons will be sent to students virtually and must be turned into teachers by
3:30pm. Students will be working on a teacher video lesson, project, or special class assignment.
In general, work assigned will be due to the teacher the next class day.
Virtual attendance will be taken in all online classes. If students are online, missing a live online
class is an unexcused absence unless the school is provided with a doctor’s note.
Remote/Virtual Learning Option: Students who remain in remote learning while CCHS continues
with in-person instruction will be required to login to their live class meetings daily. This will be
recorded as “present virtually” in attendance. Students who choose an online option for school are
expected to be in school virtually during the hours of 8:15 am - 2:37 pm. The student who chooses
remote learning while CCHS continues with in-person instruction will remain in remote
learning for the entire first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the school will evaluate the
program and contact those families who have students online. Those students who choose remote
learning and would like to participate in on campus activities should contact the athletic or activities
office at school for procedures.
Academic Planning at CCHS for Future Remote Learning: CCHS is maintaining plans for multiple
learning scenarios in the event that we are asked to change our educational setting at any point during
the school year. We used what we learned during the 2019-2020 school year and made adjustments to
our academic plans so we are prepared in the event that our school is closed for any period of time
during the school year. Our goal is to be able to shift seamlessly between learning models when we are
required to do so. In the event that CCHS must return to a fully remote learning environment for all
students, families can expect the following:

In School 3/1 Learning (updated 8.21.20)
We have always been well aware that our plans could change, and we continue to work daily ondeveloping the best possible program for each student in our community. Our plan states "ourfaculty and administration are prepared to adjust to other educational plans as guidelines adjust".We have been comfortable with our plan and are thankful that you have trusted us to do the bestwe can under the circumstances of the pandemic. After careful review of some of our protocols, werealize that are unable to have every student return full-time to campus under the guidelinesprovided to us by the Diocese of Camden. Specifically, the combination of the size of our studentenrollment, the number of faculty on staff, and the dimensions of our classrooms meant that someclass sizes were too large to enable us to meet all of the requirements for opening.
We are therefore presenting a plan that will bring as much of the school community together eachday as possible while meeting the guidelines.
We are proposing to divide the school into four alphabetical cohorts based on last name. Each group would do online learning for one week and be in school for three weeks of themonth. This means that on any given day, seventy-five percent of the entire studentpopulation will be on campus with the remaining twenty-five percent (one of the fourgroups) not on campus. Your child will be on campus for three out of the four weeks of everymonth. One of the weeks, your child will receive virtual instruction.
By taking these steps, the Camden Catholic community will work together to ensure that we meetthe requirements for a safe environment in classrooms for as many students as possible eachweek. Please know that we will continue to inform, update, and communicate with everyone on aconsistent basis regarding the specifics of this adjustment.

General School Information
Student Resources: All students at Camden Catholic High School have a CCHS email account and will
login to each one of their classes via Google Classroom and FACTS SIS (Ren Web). Students and
families can think of the FACTS SIS (Ren Web) as the “record keeper.” This system will keep
attendance, grades, disciplines, and lesson plans for teachers. Teachers will use Google Classroom and
the G-Suite for academic instruction.
Technology Requirements: All students must have access to a device of their choosing that they will
use daily for school work. The minimum acceptable device can be a ChromeBook, personal Laptop, or
a tablet with word processing abilities. A cell phone is not a device that is sufficient enough for daily
school work. We will do our best to assist any student who may have issues with accessing this
technology.
Academic Integrity: As a Catholic school community, it is our expectation that our students will take
pride and ownership of their own school work. While online learning is an environment that allows
students to have open notebooks, the internet, and access to all class materials, we expect that
students will adhere to the expectations that CCHS has set forth in our policies for academic integrity.
This means that students who share answers or use resources without giving proper credit or citations
will face academic and disciplinary consequences.
Physical Education: In order to maintain our health and safety guidelines, physical education for
freshmen will be transformed to a health class. In addition to teaching health and wellness, this health
class will be an integral part of the freshman transition program and guidance program.
Morning Drop Off: Students may be dropped off as early as 7:15 am at Door C3 near the Gym.
Students report immediately to their first period classroom. No student may be dropped off before 7:15
am.

After School Study Hall: CCHS will have an after school study hall in the Pisa Dining Hall from 3 pm
to 6 pm. Students may not be in any other area of the building unless they are with a faculty member.
CCHS will send out procedures and sign ups for the after school study hall. Students will be required
to remain in the Pisa Dining Hall and will not be permitted to re-enter the building once they leave.
Students will be required to wear masks while in the dining hall and will be positioned at least 6 feet
from one another.
Hallways, Lockers, and Backpacks: Students are not permitted to congregate in hallways. In order
to minimize the time spent in hallways, students will not use lockers. Students will carry a backpack
with their device, notebook, and personal supplies. Students may be asked to show an adult the
contents of their backpacks at any time during the school day. Textbooks will remain at home.
Information Commons: Students will not be able to congregate in the Hocker Information
Commons. Study halls will be assigned to classrooms.
Student Supplies: In addition to their regular school supplies for the day, all students must carry the

Campus Ministry: Essential to our Catholic identity is a powerful life of prayer, worship, and service
to others. Because CCHS believes that this experience is at the heart of our mission, we will continue to
offer many opportunities of prayer and worship for the entire community, on-campus and remote
service projects, and student retreats.
All students must utilize the new online platform, Mobile Serve, for logging service hours and signing
up for service projects, morning mass, and student retreats.
The Christian Service program has made modifications to the requirements for this year. Recognizing
the restrictions placed on all of us due to the pandemic, and following the safety protocols, students
will have the flexibility to choose which model of service works best for them. There will be no hourly
service requirement this year. Our focus will be on the “acts of service” rather than the “hours” of
service. Students will be able to participate in on-campus service projects hosted by Campus Ministry.
Students learning remotely will be able to complete at-home service projects. Students that have
completed summer service, or are currently working within the surrounding communities, can
continue to do so if this option suits them. Service reflection guidelines will be distributed in the
student Religion course, and completed reflections will be due in March.
All students will participate in at least one retreat for the school year. Retreats can be found on the
website, RenWeb, and the Campus Ministry Google Classroom. Students are asked to select their
retreat by the end of September. Space is limited for each retreat due to maximum occupancy
guidelines.
Students will receive a Pass/Fail grade for Service on their final report card. The details of the Campus
Ministry requirements will be explained to all students in their Religion classes during the first few
weeks of school. All essential documents and information about Campus Ministry is posted to
RenWeb, the Campus Ministry Google Classroom, and our Camden Catholic website.

Athletics: Camden Catholic High School has followed the summer parameters outlined by the NJSIAA.
There will be a no contact period for sports as we work to open our schools at the beginning of
September. Our coaches will be working on plans for the start of the practice season. As a member of
the Olympic Conference, we will be working with our conference schools and the diocese to develop
responsible plans for our athletic programs. Fall schedules are being reviewed and adjusted to meet
the mandated changes given from the state.
Activities: Being a part of a school community outside the classroom is a part of a young person’s
formational experience in high school. We believe that extra-curricular activities are a critical part of
educating the whole person and plan to maintain our extra-curricular program. Faculty moderators
will use a varied approach to club meetings such as zoom, etc. All activities will adhere to the protocol
in place for social distancing and numbers of people in any space.
While we will not be able to have any all school assemblies, we have plans in place for class gatherings
with appropriate distancing with adherence to any additional guidelines. We will also use the class
meeting model to celebrate Mass.
Dress Code: Students are expected to be in uniform each day for school. Students must plan to enter
the school building in uniform. Those students who will be learning from home are expected to be at a
desk or table and dress in a uniform top while in class.
During the months of September and October, Girls will be permitted to wear white ankle socks in lieu
of the uniform black tights.

Tuition Policy: Tuition at Camden Catholic High School only accounts for approximately 85% of our
budget. CCHS has always been fortunate to have a dedicated group of alumni and donors who
generously give to our school to help us to meet our budget and close the cost per student gap.
Regardless of the student’s educational setting, there is no change in tuition. Our teachers are
dedicated to providing a rigorous academic approach whether the class is virtual or in our building.
Even though school may look different this year, expenses remain the same, and some have increased
due to the needs we have in implementing the various parts of our program and maintaining health
and safety standards. Families who have any concerns about tuition should contact Mrs. Whipkey at
Student Services: Each student is assigned a level guidance counselor who schedules regular
meetings to discuss academics as well as any concerns that the students may have. Students are
encouraged to schedule appointments with counselors. Counselors will schedule both individual and
group meetings with students throughout the year. Because it is important for the school and
guidance staff to maintain schedules that allow for appropriate safety protocols to be put in place, the
guidance office cannot accept drop-in appointments. Questions can be directed to counselors via
email, and only scheduled appointments are permitted.
Camden Catholic High School will continue to maintain our relationship with the Camden County
Educational Services Commission to provide services to students with specific learning needs. The
National Honor Society maintains a daily peer tutoring program, and our faculty also offer extra help
to students. All of these services will continue in the event that the school needs to move to a remote
learning program at any point during the school year.

Food Service: Camden Catholic High School continues to partner with Aramark for our Food Services.
Parents must use My School Bucks for food purchasing so we can maintain a cashless food service
program. Pisa Dining Hall offerings for the 2020-21 school will be altered so as to maintain health and
safety standards. Lunches will be more of a “grab and go” option rather than made to order. More
information will be provided in our August newsletters.
CCHS will have two locations for lunch. Tables in the Pisa Dining Hall will be marked as to where
students may sit. Students may not move tables or chairs.
There will be a second lunch location in the gym. Bleachers will be marked where students may sit.
Students will be asked to remain socially distant from each other during lunch. No microwaves will be
available for student use. Food and drink should only be consumed during lunch in the dining hall or
gym.
Water Bottles: Water fountains will not be in use during the 2020-21 school year. Students who carry
the clear water bottles that have a straw may use the water fill stations during their assigned lunch
periods. Since masks must be worn in the classrooms, water may only be consumed in class from a
