Physical Education – Students will continue building their gross motor skills while participating in team building activities. TEAMWORK and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP will be emphasized! Remember to always wear SNEAKERS and comfortable clothing on your child’s assigned PE class day – EVERY WEDNESDAY with Mrs. Erster! Reader's Theater – Students will develop oral reading skills using scripts, poems, and songs about trees through the seasons. Science – Students will be finishing up the Living/Non-living unit and starting with the Tree unit. We’ll begin by learning about the parts of trees. STEM - Students will learn how to use iPads to research and read using apps like Benchmark and EPIC. Please practice using Benchmark Universe with your kids at home to get them used to logging into apps independently! Don’t forget the nycs in the link! The site it nycs.benchmarkuniverse.com First Grade Art – Students will learn about patterns and textures using a variety of materials. Physical Education – Students will continue to work on their gross motor skills while participating in team building activities. TEAMWORK and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP will be emphasized! Remember to always wear SNEAKERS and comfortable clothing on your child’s assigned PE class day. Reader's Theater – Students will develop oral reading skills using scripts, poems, and songs about weather and seasons. Science – Students will be continuing with learning all about air as one of the states of matter. They will also be learning about weather. STEM - Students will begin to explore the engineer and design process used in STEM. They will be working on projects that will help them explore problem solving while working in collaborative groups. Second Grade Art – Students will learn how to add more details to their work by adding lines, textures and patterns. Physical Education – Students will continue to work on their gross motor skills while participating in team building activities. TEAMWORK and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP will be emphasized! Remember to always wear SNEAKERS and comfortable clothing on your child’s assigned PE class day. Reader's Theater – Students will develop oral reading skills using scripts, poems, and songs about rules and responsibilities. Science – Students will continue learning about soil through examining rocks, pebbles, sand and salt. STEM - Students will begin to explore the engineer and design process used in STEM. They will be working on projects that will help them explore problem solving while working in collaborative groups. Third Grade Art – Students will work with reptile reliefs. Physical Education – Students will continue to work on their gross motor skills while participating in team building activities. TEAMWORK and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP will be emphasized! Physical Education – Students will become familiar with PE rules and expectations. They will work on their gross motor skills while participating in team building activities. TEAMWORK and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP will be emphasized! Remember to always wear SNEAKERS and comfortable clothing on your child’s assigned PE class day. Science – Students will be learning about different kinds of variables and how they affect the outcome of experiments. STEM Students will begin to explore the engineer and design process used in STEM. They will be working on projects that will help them explore problem solving while working in collaborative groups. Student Account Update! Students will be getting their usernames and passwords for all of their school accounts this month. Please have your children practice logging in and using these accounts at home! Check the labels in your child’s folder or agenda to make sure you are using the correct URL for each site. For example: Our schools Benchmark Universe site has nycs before the rest of the URL. If you don’t write the nycs the username and password won’t work. It should look like this: nycs.benchmarkuniverse.com You can always check the school website for additional school information at www.ps24queens.weebly.com
