Dr. Jamie N. Bakkum-Gamez, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic, who will discuss how to achieve “enhanced recovery” after surgery by implementing a multimodal approach directed at optimizing the patient experience, standardizing perioperative care and improving outcomes.
Several of our own distinguished faculty are offering “pearls for practice” in their areas of expertise, including:
• Brain and cognition during the menopausal transition• Management of premature ovarian insufficiency• Placement of LARC immediately after delivery • Reducing risk with gynecological procedures• Hereditary cancer syndromes• Hormone replacement in gynecologic cancer patients
There will be ample opportunity to meet with all of the distinguished faculty to discuss clinical cases and OBGYN issues, or to reacquaint with friends or colleagues, over coffee or lunch. This year, we will be having our first Global Women’s Health Reception and Fundraiser, please join us on Thursday evening.
I look forward to meeting healthcare providers who attend this Conference for the first time, and reuniting with colleagues, friends, and healthcare providers from throughout the state and beyond, and especially meeting with UIC alumni.
