Our socials are always crazy nights. This one was no different. The big twist – a Live

band. Songs from the 80s and 90s were a big hit and everyone sang along. Eventually

we took over the mics ourselves and brayed. The music played till wee hours of the

morning and food made us gain 10 pounds but a night that was a beautiful twist on

the party scene of 213.

FELLOWSHIPS THAT PACKED A BANG

July 1st - AGM Night – Lights, Camera, Action

A Brilliant Night that went on till the wee hours of the morning. People put on their

Glamorous best, their Dancing shoes and got ready to hit the Red carpet and face the

mad paparazzi, and why shouldn’t they? Everyone present that night is a star on all

counts. With amazing attendance from all 4 tables from Vizag and from tablers

across Area9 and even from Singapore Round Table 1 it definitely brought us all a

little closer together. People Danced, Sang and Just had a blast overall. A fun filled

and energetic start to the year 17-18. A night to remember by all accounts.

July 19th – Toh aao kabhi Haveli pe

There is a new meme in town and 213 doesn’t use it ? As if that’s even possible…. Toh hum bhi gaye Haweli pe to see what all the fuss is about… and.. Long Drive… Good weather… Good dinner… a Very Good Evening…. We recoemmend that everyone goes to the Haweli… maybe not the one Amrish Puri is inviting you to but go to some haveli.

August 25th – Ganesh Chaturthi at Bollinas residence

As I said we have traditions we take very seriously in 213. A tradition we have

followed from years in to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at the Bollinas residence. A

beautiful idol, delicious traditional parasadams and dinner, entertainment for the

kids and a soul satisfying aarti. Impeccable arrangements as always !

September 8th – Celebratory Fellowship at Tr.Sai’s

A laid back night with lovely music and tasty food…. Oh not to forget the non stop

nonsense talks – this was exactly the night we had when Tr. Sai invited us all home to

celebrate his AVC win and we did 213 style all the way.

16th September – Trip to ICHA foundation

Some fellowships just touch your heart and this was one of them. ICHA is a

foundation that serves as an orphanage and care centre for the differently abled

kids. We have been associated with ICHA this year as we have adopted all their

grocery needs for the year. The orphanage is located about 50 kms from the city. A

beautiful ride and a beautiful location and above all a beautiful time with kids there.

The icing on the cake – a joint fellowship plus CS with WRT 92

26th Sepetember – Karaoke

It is so much fun when we get together to bray together... oops i meant sing

together. We all hit the right notes, sang in tune, followed the pitch and sounded

beautiful – lol just joking, we are just happy no one called the police to confiscate the

mics and tape our mouths shut. Double Bonanza was bringing in Deepti’s Birthday

with a cake cutting and who doesn’t love cake ?

July 3rd – Movie Fellowship – The Dark Night

You know what’s the best way to fight away your Monday Blues ? Say bye bye

to work early and Go watch a movie. Okay we know the movie was boring, but

hey we had fun meeting up.

July 6th – Dinner fellowship at Bar-B-Q Nation

Q : What happens when one of our Tablers (read Rohit Kancharla) gets a hankering

for Barbeque food ?

Ans : We all go and eat at Bar-B-Q Nation and stuff till we can’t eat anymore and

then eat some Kulfi.

July 7th – Movie Fellowship - Spiderman

Hello, it’s your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman...... we had to go watch it on the

first day... Duh !

July 9th – Dinner Fellowship - McDonalds

Yes, Yes, we know we eat a lot and as a Table we love food a little too much. So what

? McDonalds had opened up in the city. After a lot of prayers and mannats that

McChicken Burger had finally arrived, so we had to go stuff our face again. I may be

starting to see why we are all becoming fat as family.

July12th – Hook up with Desserts at Tr.Ajay’s Residence

We had realised that we had spent too much time eating food and very little time

eating Desserts. So we had a night to make up all our lost time and got together at

Tr.Ajay’s Residence for sinful desserts and some Shisha. By the end of the night we

we had a weird mix of sugar rush and food coma.

July 14th – Coffee and Conversation at the Newly opened Fresh

Choice Coffee shop

No better way to spend a monsoon evening than with friends, pastries, piping hot

coffee and some wandering conversations. A soul and stomach satisfying evening.

July 21st – Games Night

Madness always ensues when we catch up for games night. This time it was

Pictionary, Monopoly and Taboo. A little competitiveness, a little fun cheating and a

lot of fun – that’s the end result of that night that was hosted by Tr.Abik Hirawat at

this residence.

July 25th – Movie Fellowship – Dunkirk

We love our movies and we gotta watch all of them together. Some people loved it,

Some snoozed through it but what can we say, everyone enjoyed the popcorn.

July 28th – Dinner fellowship - Potluck

When too many people want to eat different things our Fellowship Conveners

magically make that happen…. Ok, not magically. They put everyone to work and ask

them to bring the food.. thus we are left with an array of food from different cuisines

and more food than one could possibly imagine. The conversations also flowed as

easily and as varied as the food that night.

August 1st – Ice cream Fellowship – Cream Stone

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice cream. Same was the case at Cream

Stonethe other night when we all caught up for a some much not needed calories.

August 4th – Movie Fellowship – Jab Harry met Sejal

We have some die hard Shahrukh Khan fans in our table (psst… its some of our ladies

FYI). So it just had to be done, First day for Harry met Sejal. Ya some people walked

out after the first half hour but we persevered ( or should I say suffered) and stuck it

out till the end (not worth it !)

August 8th- Horror Movie Night

We had a Romance overdose in the last few weeks with all the lovey dovey movies

we watched. Thus we decided to exorcise those crazy ideas of singing songs in the

rains from our minds by watching a Horror Movie at Tr. Rohit’s place. Movie of

choice – Don’t Breathe. End Result – Our Ladies didn’t seem too scared, go figure.

August 14th – Independence eve

213 has its own set of traditions especially when it comes to some fellowships. Every

year on 14th august we head to Waltair club for a night of games, music and dancing.

This year was no different as well headed to the best Independence eve party in the

city and a fun time bonding and well yes…. Eating.

August 22nd – Movie Fellowship – Annabelle Creation

The horror movie fever just got stronger after the other night and as per popular

demand we headed to watch Annabelle and the Ladies weren’t scared again… go

figure. Looks like Hollywood needs to up its game

August 26th – Charter Night of Vizag Alpha Round Table

A proud moment for us at VVRT 213 as pour baby table chartered on August 26th

2017. We all put on our party best and dancing shoes and came prepared to party

with the Alphas. A fun glamorous masquerade ball that kept us grooving all night.

August 28th – Noodles Fellowship

Street Food is the best food. But Chinese Street food is beyond that. A rainy evenin

with hot chai (desi) and Hot noodles ( videsi) is just as perfect as it gets.

August 30th – Arjun Reddy Movie Fellowship

Come on, we had to go see what the craze was about. The city just kept talking about

this and we couldn’t stay away. Gotta say liitle impressed.

September 2nd – AAGM – Informal

What do you get when you mix a bunch of party enthusiasts with a dollop of

amazing live music, a spoonful of a DJ who rocks the party well into the wee hours

and a pinch of the patent 213 madness –the recipe for an epic night and that what

we got at the informal night at AAGM. The fact that we gotta party with all the other

tablers from area 9 made it all the more memorable.

September 3rd – AAGM continued

It was a lazy Sunday turned into a mad Sunday with people zipping off to lunch at the

Spice Venue and a mad dash back to the hotel and then to the airport while some

went in for a spa day at the hotel itself and a long lazy lunch at the hotel and then to

the airport.,

September 12th – Thickshake Fellowship

I have come to believe we at 213 should start our own Calorie Special fellowships

now because somehow all we do is get fat together. Well anyhow we did meet again

for some sweet tooth cravings, this time in the form of Thickshakes at the beach

road… yes Thick shakes for all of us Thick fellas.

14th September – Boys Night

It may not be as rare as the Haley’s comet but a boys night at 213 is rare. I have to

say, it lives upto its reputation everytime. It’s crazy, it’s loud, it’s wild and it’s a lot of

FUN. Just a bunch of Boisterous Boys and their Beers but that’s all one needs for a

mad night.

16th September – Lighthhouse

We decided to not finish the fellowship so soon so we took a rather long detour to

visit one of the most beautiful places of Vizag – the lighthouse atop Dolphin’s nose

hill. It was a day of long drives and long talks.

17th September – Meet the Baby

Tr. Ravi and Ayushi have been blessed with a beautiful little princess making our 213

family one person stronger. We had to go give the baby a big warm 213 welcome.

She already loves her 213 uncles and aunties.

21st September – Zumba

Well...... after all that eating and cheating on our diets we decided to shake that

booty and burn some of those desserts we put in to our system in all the previous

fellowships. Our Tr. Prakash’s sister Deepika just became a certified Zumba instructor

so we had ourselves a little Zumba Fitness Party.... Was fun to see some of the boys

move out of beat and some move not at all.

22nd September – Chicon at Daspalla

No... i did not forget the spelling of chicken – it is the Chicon festival – Chinese and

Continental. Hey, we had burned off our calories with the Zumba event so we

deserved this (somewhat).

27th September – Spyder Movie VRT 77 Fundraiser

The Big release of the year, Mahesh Babu, Parent table fundraiser... enough reasons

to have done this... honestly they had us at Mahesh Babu.

Projects The slab of the school building has been laid. The flooring work is also completed as of September. An Interim Grant has been received from RTIT to the tune of

5,50,000/- and payment of 5,00,000/- has been made to BVK. We are expecting the inauguration on happen in October.

Community Service

Total number of activities : 8 Medical Camps 24th September, 2017: Dental and Medical Camp On 24th September, we organized a dental and medical camp in association with Durga Hospitals. The camp was at Kakani Nagar, Vizag. We had patients walking in with various ailments and the doctors at the camp did a very good job of handling the patients. Patients with serious ailments were asked to visit the hospital for a follow-up. Sq. Leg Dr. Sivanagendra did a fabulous job and it was indeed a privilege being associated with him. The medical and dental camp was also covered by Eenadu’s electronic and print media. ICHA Foundation This year we have decided to adopt the grocery needs of ICHA foundation. Mrs. Madhu Tugnait, the founder was really happy with us coming forward and contributing. While asking her about her Foundation, she has told us a brief about how she started off her Foundation in 2012, and the hardships of starting off her funding with little support. However, she now takes care of 16 abandoned children, some of who are handicapped, and two children so ill that they are bed ridden. She now takes care of all the children’s health and has provided them with food and shelter. She also shares with us about her plan to start a school next to the

orphanage and to educate the under privileged children living in and around that area.

paste and a few other items

August contributors - The donors are Tr. Sorabh, Tr. Anirudh, Tr. Avaneish (on occasion of his mother's birthday), Tr. Rohit (on behalf of Prerna) and HT Dr. Raghunandan (on occasion of his daughter Nainika's birthday). This was also our first joint event with our baby table Vizag Alpha RT. It was a

pleasure to have a joint CS activity with them and are looking forward to more such

joint events

September contributors

Like each month, we have donated groceries, detergent powders, soaps, milk, spices and a lot more other items. The donors for the month of September are: Sq. Leg Sandeep Chitra, Tr. Sai Madhukar Rathi, Tr. Avaneish, Tr. Saurabh and Prerna.

16thSeptember, 2017: Visit to Icha Foundation

We have only donated groceries to Icha Foundation in their city office. But, we never

got to see how they work. So, we went to visit Icha Foundation, which is located

inKondakarla, around 54 kilometres from Vizag city. They have a beautiful facility on

the banks of a lake. They adopted abandoned children from in and around the area.

Most of the children there were either mentally or physically handicapped. Each

child they adopted have a sad history behind them. Some of the children were

abandoned by their parents on railway tracks, in the train, in the dumpster. Such

incidents that happened to these children is inhumane and they do not deserve to go

through whatever they did. They are now fortunate that they are under really good

care by Icha Foundation.

Mrs. Madhu also showed us the classroom which she built for the young children

there. It can accommodate 8 children. She funds education for the older children,

who go to school in the town nearby. She also has a physiotherapy room for children

with physical disabilities. Overall, it is an excellent facility and the children are taken

good care of, by the volunteers.

They have a piece of land next to the facility, where they want to build a small school

in the long run and provide free education to abandoned and underprivileged

children in the vicinity. Post the tour around the facility, we celebrated birthdays of

Tr. Aniketh (WRT 92) and Mrs. Sriddevi (w/o Tr. Srijan, WRT 92). The children were

thrilled that we had cake cutting at the premises.

This activity was a joint Community Service activity with Waltair Round Table 92.

Other Activities 15th August: We had celebrated Independence Day at BVK School, Visalakshinagar. There were about 450 children to whom we had distributed books and chocolates. Tr. Karan, our Secretary also addressed the students with a short, but really wonderful speech. After the celebrations at the BVK School, we head to Omkar & Lions Educational Society for the Deaf where we had distributed goodies to the children there and celebrated Independence Day with them. The children there were really happy. Attendees: Tr. Karan Nagpal, Secretary; Tr. Roshan Rawat, Treasurer; Tr. Ravi Singhal; Tr. Anirudh Kankatala; Tr. Saurabh Saraogi and Twinkler Iksha Singhal.

28th August: It was Tr. Prakash's sister Deepika's birthday. She wanted to donate stationary. So some of us went to Generation Yuvaa where Deepika donated 60 notebooks, pencils and crayons to the children there. She also cut a cake at the orphanage and celebrated her birthday with the children. The children were really thrilled with the cake cutting and enjoyed the celebrations. Those who went to Generation Yuvaa were also given a tour of the facility.

14th September, 2017: Area 9 Blood Donation Camp VVRT 213 participated in the Area Blood Donation Camp held at AS Raja Blood Bank. We had a good amount of participation at the event. Plans:

1. Joy of Giving Q2

We are planning to donate the groceries to Icha Foundation as has been our monthly

practice from July. October however, we will be doing a joint Community Service

activity with Waltair Round Table 92. We will also be doing a joint Community Service

activity with Vizag Knights Round Table 225 in the month of November and we would

like to do one Community Service with Vizag Round Table 77 in the month of

December.

2. Quiz Competition:

We are planning to conduct a quiz competition at our FTE School, Vijnana Bharathi

School, Kothavalasa. We are currently in touch with BVK for finalizing on the dates

and how to go about organizing the quiz competition. This way we would also like to

get to spend some time at our FTE project and see how the children there are

performing.

3. Dental or Eye Camp

Sometime in November or December, we are planning on hosting another dental or

eye camp. Probably in a different area, somewhere with limited access to good

medical facilities.

4. TaareZameen Par

TaareZameen Par is once activity which is close to many of our tablers. We had the

most amount of participation for TaareZameen Par over the past few years. So this

year as well, we would be participating in the TaareZameen Par along with the other

tables.

5. Children’s Day

We are planning to organize an activity at one of our FTE schools for children’s day.

Publicity All CS events were being posted on our Facebook page and the page has garnered a lot of momentum and likes. Plans : A college level publicity event A billboard during the RTI week

International Relations Officer We have contacted RT Netherlands, RT France, RT Germany, to connect with the RT 213 in their respective associations. Also in touch with the national twinning convener to get us in touch with 213 tables across the globe.

Fundraising Tr. Sorabh proposed about the Diwali Fundraiser and that he should get it started in the first week of October.

LAPD/HRD TOTAL ACTIVITIES - 7 Tr.Karan Nagpal suggested doing a 1 minute talk around a famous personality like a humanitarian, leader or businessman who could inspire the tablers and had their birthday in the month of the meeting. The minutes of the meeting would also be designed around the same personality. July - Malala Yousafazai In 2012, she was the recipient of Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize and the 2013 Sakharov Prize. In 2014, she was announced as the co-recipient of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, along with Kailash Satyarthi, for her struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. August - Mother Teresa - 26 August 1910

Bone Marrow Transplant

Tr. Ravi spoke about the importance for registering with Datari Foundation for Bone Marrow Transplant which can save many lives. He spoke about the process of registering and how it can be helpful. He spoke about how bone marrow transplant can save the lives of people from various diseases. A bone marrow transplant replaces bone marrow that is either not working properly or has been destroyed (ablated) by chemotherapy or radiation. Doctors believe that for many cancers, the donor's white blood cells may attack any remaining cancer cells, similar to when white cells attack bacteria or viruses when fighting an infection.

Priorities in Life

Sq Leg. Sudhir Nair delivered a LAPD on how to get our focus and priorities in life

right. How we need to stop focussing on what’s wrong and how to cherish what is

right. It was a small activity that put things into perspective.

7 Tablers and and their spouses attended the Area 9 AGM in Hyderabad where our

very own Tr.Sai M Rathi became the AVC for Area 9.

Secretary Speaks

It has been a good quarter for us with an amazing number of fellowships, 6 Business

Meetings, Community Service activities and ofcourse our FTE project gaining

momentum. It has been a pleasure serving as the secretary of the table this quarter

and I look forward to the support of all my fellow tablers in the coming year.

Chairman’s Desk

It's been a good quarter and a great start to the year. Fellowships have been a little

slow at the beginning but picked up. CS has taken off well and glad to see 2 or more

CS activities being planned every month. Secretary has supported well with some

great minuting. Treasurer has put a lot of effort towards the documentation for the

80G exemption (being done for the first time in 213). Looking forward to doing some

good projects in the next quarter. Already planned for an Area LAPD session and an

area social. Hoping to implement both.
