IntheVTRturbocharger,exhaustgasfromtheengineflowsthroughthegasinletcasing(1),andexpandsinthenozzlering(2).Itimpartsenergytothebladesoftheturbinerotor(3),andthenpassesviagasoutletcasing(4)andanexhaustpipetotheatmosphere.Theairrequiredbytheengineisdrawnthroughasuc-tionpipeorcombinedfilter-silencer(5)tothecompressor(6).Itthenflowsthroughthediffuser(7)andfinallyleavestheturbochargerviathevoluteofthecompressorcasing(8).
