MEDAILLE COLLEGE (2-3 OVERALL, 0-1 AMCC)

Season Notes: For the second straight season, the Mavericks opened up their AMCC campaign with a lost to cross-town Hilbert College, this year it was a five point loss (67-72). The Mavs will look to rebound against Penn State Altoona, a team that they have success against over the last decade, winning their previous fourteen matchups. Mavs sophomore Mike Hollenbeck currently leads the team with (7.2) rebounds per game and is fourth on the team with (9.8) ppg and has become a force to reckon with on the defensive end of the floor. Unfortunately he also leads the team in fouls (4.2) per game and has fouled out twice, cutting his average time on the floor to just (21.2) minutes per game. Freshmen Matt Sadowy and William Brooks have played well in spots when spelling Hollenbeck. The continued improvement from the young core of inside play-ers will be key to the team’s success down the road this season.
