How to Install Prerequisites for VRS – Windows 7 and Windows 10

Introduction This self‐help guide is designed to walk you through the installation of the VRS prerequisites.

1. Make sure Internet Explorer is set as your default browser

• Open up Internet Explorer

• Set the web browser defaults for Internet Explorer by going to Tools>Internet

Options>Programs>Set Program

• A window will pop up to choose the default program.

• Change the web browser default to Internet Explorer if not set already.

2. Add VRS to your Favorites

• Go to https://isdhvrstest.netsmartcloud.com/VrWebISDHTEST/

• Click the Bookmark Vital Records button below the login

• Click Add to add this web site to your favorites. The Name may be changed to the

user’s preference.

3. Add the site to your trusted sites (This is a very important step)

• Open the Tools menu in Internet

Explorer (Press Alt key if not in

menu bar)

• Select Internet Options

• Go to the Security tab

• Confirm Trusted sites

(green checkmark) is

selected

• Click the Sites button

• Verify the URL matches what is

listed

• Select Add (If this button is

greyed out, contact your

administrator)

4. Install the Multi-site Refresh Tool This tool will need to be ran when running multiple VRS environments. This tool clears your app cache when going between environments such as development to the production environment.

• Click Running Multiple Versions of VR

• Click on the Setup link in option B

• Click Run

• Go through Installation. Click Finish

5. Install Netsmart VR BA Prerequisites

• Select Netsmart VR BA Prerequisites Setup wizard (which will install most

necessary prerequisites)

• Select Run

• If you receive this message, continue to select Run

• Select I agree to the license terms and conditions and select Install

• You may be prompted by UAC security window. Select Agree

• Select Close

• You should be able to login to the Vital Records System

Steps to fix the issue

1. Click Tools or the gear icon.

2. Select Internet options.

3. Click the Security tab.

4. Select Trusted Sites icon.

5. Click the Sites button.

6. Type in https://isdhvrstest.netsmartcloud.com into “Add this website to the zone”

7. Click Add button.

Note: If add button is greyed out, you will need to contact your administrator.

8. Click Close to exit the Trusted Sites window

9. Click Apply then OK to exit Internet Options

Steps to fix the issue

1. Click Tools or the gear icon.

2. Select Internet options.

3. Click the Security tab.

4. Select Trusted Sites icon.

5. Select Custom Level…icon

Note: If custom level button is greyed out, you will need to contact your administrator.

6. Select Enable under Loose XAML

7. Select Enable under XAML browser applications

8. Click OK button.

9. Click Close to exit the Trusted Sites window

10. Click Apply then OK to exit Internet Options

Steps to fix the issue

1. Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button , and then choose Internet options.

2. Select the Programs tab, and then choose Make default.

3. Select OK, and then close Internet Explorer.

Steps to fix the issue

1. Return to the login page of VRS BA

2. Select the View Application Prerequisites button.

3. Click Netsmart VR BA Prerequisites Setup Wizard

4. Click Run

5. Once the download finishes, follow installation instructions.

6. Restart your computer and then try again.

Steps to fix the issue

1. Return to the login page of VRS BA

2. Select the Running Multiple Versions of VR button.

3. Click Netsmart VR BA Prerequisites Setup Wizard

4. Click Setup under B. Use MultiSiteFresh Utility to Clean Local Cache

5. Click Run (you may need to do this twice)

6. Once the download finishes, follow installation instructions.

7. Under Programs>Netsmart Technologies, run the Netsmart Multi-Site VR Refresh

• Please remember to close out of all open browser windows before running

8. Once the program has cleared the cache, go ahead and relogin
