    cultural i" an o**ortunit% for u" a" a countr% to end *re1udice and raci"m ,ecau"e the"e e(*o"ure"

    can generate a re"*ect for difference" that can ha$e a *o.erful im*act on ho. children "ee

    I ,elie$e it i" im*ortant to e(*o"e children to di$er"it% at "chool ,ecau"e the"e e(*o"ure"can alter their a""um*tion" or "tereot%*ical $ie." the% generated from their en$ironment at home

    or from the media+ A multicultural education gi$e" "tudent" the"e e(*o"ure" .hile creating an

    A multicultural education i" more than "urrounding "tudent" .ith other" from different

    culture"+ The mere *re"ence of other culture" doe" not lead to a multicultural education ,ut it

    doe" o*en u* the "tage for con$er"ation") it doe" "et forth the tone of the cla""room" and it doe"

    gi$e the "chool0" facult% the o**ortunit% to e(*lore the man% different culture" .ithin the "chool+

    Therefore it i" im*ortant for our "chool" to not onl% em,race the di$er"e "tudent *o*ulation ,ut

    to al"o engage and e(*lore that di$er"it%+ That .ould mean refining the current curriculum taught

    throughout our countr% and de$elo*ing one that de"egregate" and e(hi,it" e/ualit% for all+

    There are man% different a"*ect" that ma-e education a multicultural e(*erience for all

    "tudent") ,ut I thin- the main "ource come" from the en$ironment and teaching "t%le" "et forth

    .ithin the "chool and in the cla""room+ 'hile doing re"earch in *re$iou" cour"e" on di$er"it%

    and multicultural education) I found that mo"t "chool" *ro*o"e goal" to *ro$ide a multicultural

    en$ironment for their "tudent" and each of them *roclaim to $alue di$er"it%+ One *rogram that I

    found that all the "chool di"trict" *artici*ate in i" called Character Counts! Thi" i" a *rogram that

    teache" "tudent" to $alue each other and al"o hel*" them ,uild u* their o.n "elf e"teem+ I thin-

    thi" i" a good *rogram that teache" %oung children di$er"it% and acce*tance and I ho*e to

    im*lement it into m% future cla""room+
