Definitions

• New Member: VMware customer who has never previously held a VPP membership and who chooses to enroll in VPP

• Affiliate: VPP members may add their affiliates to their membership to utilize and benefit from their organization’s discount level and global purchasing power. Once a “family”relationship is established, all valid points will accumulate with all members earning the same shared discount. As new affiliates are added over time, their valid points will be pooled into the family. There are two types of affiliates:

1) Member Listed Affiliate: Affiliate added to a VPP membership during the online enrollment process. Member-Listed Affiliates utilize parent organization’s VPP membership number.

2) Self-Enrolled Affiliate (SEA)- Affiliate who requests to join an existing VPP membership by supplying their parent organization’s VPP membership number. Following successful enrollment, the SEA will receive their own VPP membership number.

• Customer Contact: Designated during the enrollment process or nominated by a PMA. Customer Contacts are given access to Points Portal where they can add and delete named Partners.

• Partner: Eligible Partners are listed by PMA or Customer Contact during the enrollment process or on the Points Portal. A Partner who is associated with a VPP membership will be given access to that Customer’s Points Portal.

Definitions

• Primary Membership Administrator (PMA): Customer contact, designated during the enrollment process, who manages VPP membership. Specific responsibilities include: adding and deleting Affiliates and Partners, responding to requests from Self-Enrolled Affiliate (SEA) to join membership requests, and managing SEA settings.

• VPP Membership Number: VPP members are assigned a VPP Membership Number which must be referenced on all submitted VPP orders submitted to VMware. SEAsreceive their own VPP Membership Number which will be linked on the back end to their parent organization which enables all points to accumulate within the membership.

• Points Portal: Online portal for VPP members and their named Partners to accessinformation such as a membership’s: accumulated points total, eligible discount level, points required to qualify for the next discount level, and contact details for the Customer, Affiliates and Partner.

Step 1: Go to the VPP Enrollment page

Go to the VPP Landing page at www.vmware.com/go/vpp and click “Enroll now” or go directly to the VPP Enrollment page at www.vmware.com/go/vpp-enroll

Step 2: Chose correct enrollment option

Under the option “New Membership”, click “Enroll Now”

Complete all required information and click “Continue”

Complete all required information and click “Continue”

Select YES if enrolling the user will be the Primary Membership Administrator (PMA)

Select NO to appoint another colleague to be the PMA for this VPP membership. If you select NO, you will be prompted to enter Administrator Profile information below seen in the red box on the right side.

Select the appropriate address and click “Continue”

Step 5: Add affiliates to your membership (Optional)

Add Affiliates to your VPP membership now by listing their contact information below and clicking “Add Affiliate” (* Denotes required information)

Note: Affiliates can also be added to a VPP membership by your PMA after enrollment using the Points Portal.

Select the appropriate address and click “Continue”

Step 7: Select Affiliate settings

Choose a setting to manage future affiliate requests to join your VPP membership and click “Continue”

• If you select “Allow after Approval” then an affiliate who enrolls using your VPP membership number will be added to your membership only after receiving PMA approval

• If you select “Affiliate not allowed” then affiliates will not be allowed join your VPP membership unless named by your PMA in your Points Portal

Note: Affiliate settings can be updated by your PMA after enrollment using the Points Portal.

Step 8: Add Partners to your membership (Optional)

Add Preferred Partners to your membership now. Preferred Partners will be given access to your "Points Portal" to view your membership’s current accumulated points and eligible discounts. Named partners will be unable to view actual POs and purchase amounts.

Note: Partners can be added to a VPP membership by your PMA after enrollment using the Points Portal.

To add a Partner• Under “Locate a Partner” enter Partner’s name

(at least the first 3 letters)• Select your Partner’s Country • Click “Search”• After search results appear, click “Add” next to

the name(s) of your Partner(s)• Your selected Partner(s) name (s) should now

appear under the heading “Current Partner”• Repeat search as needed• When finished adding Partner, click “Continue”

Review all the information entered. Click “Edit” to make changes as needed. Type the letters displayed on the screen in the CAPTCHA and click “Submit” to complete the enrollment.

Step 10: Your VPP membership details

Your new VPP Membership number has been generated and shown on screen below. You and your PMA (if applicable) will also receive an email with your VPP membership number, VPP approved company name and a link to the Points Portal. Please reference your VPP membership number and approved company name on all VPP orders placed with VMware.

Step 1: Go to the VPP Enrollment page

Step 7: Your VPP membership details

Your new VPP Membership number has been generated and shown on screen below. Please note however that your VPP membership number will not be activated until approved by the PMA of the membership that you are requesting to join. Once activated, please reference your VPP membership number and approved company name on all VPP orders placed with VMware.
