    P NHELLENICWHAT IS PANHELLENIC?

    The Panhellenic Council is the governing body of all 12 sororities on campus. The Council works with the

    campus, community, each sorority chapter, and Fraternity & Sorority Life Staff to serve our community. Theofficers lead monthly Panhel Events for the Greek community as well as small group meetings with the

    chapter delegates. Officers also execute Greek-wide events (i.e. Recruitment) and provide resources and

    support to all chapter members. The Panhellenic Council also initiated the Be Beautiful Campaign and

    works to bring speakers, programming, and resources to the Greek community promoting self-confidence

    and inner beauty.

    THE APPLICATION PROCESS

    1. Complete the attached application and return it to Warren 404 by noon on Wednesday, January 22nd.

    2.Sign up for an Interview time that will take place during the week of Thursday January 23rd- Friday

    January 24th

    . Interviews will be conducted by select members of the current Panhellenic Council and Staff.

    Interviews will be a chance for us to know more about you and your personality. They will last no

    longer than 30 minutes each. The committee will prepare a slate based on the candidates

    strengths and the best interest of the Panhellenic community.

    3.The Slate will be presented to the chapter presidents to be voted on at each sororitys chapter

    meeting. The chapter must pass the slate by a majority vote for it to pass and a majority of the sororities (7-

    5) must pass the slate.

    4. The new term will begin in January 2014 and continue through December 2014.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Be in Good Standing with your chapter Have over a 2.5 cumulative GPA Fully enrolled at JMU for Spring 2014 and Fall 2014 semesters Passionate about Greek Life and empowering our community Be committed to Panhellenic and the duties of the position Open to learning new skills, taking on leadership roles and working with a variety of different

    people

    Participate in risk management training to manage party checks with AGCs and IFC exec atsorority functions and co-registered fraternity events
