    Q1.Who can become a voter?

    Ans.Any person who is:

    1) a citizen of India2) 18 years of age or above on the qualifying date which is presently 1.1.2012Orborn on 1.1.1994 or earlier.3) ordinarily resident in Delhi.This includes a student in a University, Institute etc.4) not disqualified to be voter e.g. not of unsound mind etc.

    Q2. How do I Enrol as a voter and get my voter ID card?

    Ans. To become a voter you need to fill in the application Form 6. Once this Form is accepted, your name will beincluded in the Electoral Roll as a voter.

    There are four options you can follow to fill in Form 6 and these are given below :

    Option I - Online application.

    Step I - Go toEnrol Online on the home page

    Step II - If you are a new user, please sign up, you will obtain a user name and password.

    Step III - Upload one passport size colour photograph in the space mentioned in the Form. This is mandatory.

    Step IV - Upload the following documents in the space mentioned in the Form. Uploading is optional.

    In case you are unable to upload the documents below then the Booth Level Officer (BLO)who will come to your residence to verify the information, will collect both the documentsfrom you so please keep these ready.

    a) Proof of your residence( such as driving license, passport, bank pass book, any postal letter received in yourname on your address etc).

    In case you are a student residing in a Hostel of your University / Institute or elsewhere (e.g. PG) etc., then please get aDeclaration in the proforma at Annexure One(click here also)to Form 6. A scanned copy can also be uploaded.

    b) Proof of your age,such as birth certificate, school leaving certificate etc. However this is only required if you arebetween 18 and 21 years of age.

    Option II - Down load Form 6 from the website and send it by post.

    Step I - Go toFormson the top of the home page.

    Step II - You will get a number of choices, click onForm 6: Application for Inclusion as a New Voter for the First Time.

    Step III - Down load the Form, fill it, and stick one passport size photograph on the space given.

    Step IV - Sign the Form and attach the following :

    Step V - Send the Form and documents by post to the VREC (Voters Registration and EPIC Centre) of your AssemblyConstituency. The procedure to identify the VREC of your Assembly Constituency is given in the Answer to QuestionNo.3 below.

    Option III - Down load Form 6 from the website and deliver it personally.

    Step I - Go toFormson the top of the home page.

    Step II - You will get a number of choices, click onForm 6: Application for Inclusion as a New Voter for the First Time.

    Step III - Down load the Form, fill it, and stick one passport size photograph on the space given.

    Step IV - Sign the Form and attach the following :

    a) Proof of your residence,such as driving license, passport, bank pass book, any postal letter received on youraddress etc.

    b) Proof of your ageif you are between 18 and 21 years of age ( such as birth certificate, school leaving certificateetc.)

    Step V - You can deliver the Form and the documents to any one of the following :

    a) The VREC of your Assembly Constituency. To know your VREC, please see the Answer to Question No. 3 givenbelow. This facility is available throughout the year.

    b) You can go to the closest Designated Location and deliver it there. For details of your closest Designated Location

    please see the Answer to Question No.4 below. This option is available only during the Special Summary Revision ofElectoral Rolls during 01.10.2011 to 01.11.2011.

    c) You can give the documents to your Booth Level Officer (BLO). To know your BLO, please see the Answer to QuestionNo.5 below. This option is only available during the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls during 01.10.2011 to01.11.2011.

    Option IV - Personally collect and deliver Form 6.

    Step I - You can go to the VREC of your Assembly Constituency, or to the closest Designated Location or your BLO. Youcan pick up Form 6, attach the documents in proof of your residence and age (if you are between 18 and 21) and submitthis to any of the following :

    i) Your VREC.ii) Closest Designated Location.iii) Your BLO.iv) By post to your VREC.

    The facility of collecting and delivering Forms at the Designated Location and the BLO is only available during the SpecialSummary Revision of Electoral Rolls, that is during 01.10.2011 to 01.11.2011.

    Q3. How do I know where my VREC is ?

    Ans.There is one VREC for each of the 70 Assembly Constituencies (AC).

    To know your VREC, you have to know your AC first.For this go to theKnow Your Assembly Constituencyon the homepage and enter your locality name such as Greater Kailash, Mayur Vihar etc.You will get details of your AssemblyConstituency and Number.

    After that, go toKnow Your VRECon the home page and check the details of the VREC corresponding to your Assembly

    Q4. How do I know where my closest Designated Location is ?

    Ans.To see the details of the Designated Location closest to you, please go to What is New on the home page and clickonDesignated Locations for Summary Revision 2012. Click on your Assembly Constituency and you will get details of theDesignated Locations where you can go to pick up and submit Form 6.

    Q5. Where can I find details of my BLO ?

    Ans.To know your BLO, please go to Know Your Booth Level Officer (BLO). on the home page, click on the SelectButton for the address closest to you and you will get the details of your BLO.

    Q6. I have submitted my Form 6 online. What happens after that?

    Ans.The Booth Level Officer for your area shall visit you at the residence that you have given and will do the following :

    i) Confirm that you actually reside at the address mentioned by you in Form-6.

    ii) Verify your photograph with you in person.

    iii) Obtain your signature to the down loaded application of your application Form 6, (which the BLO will bring with him.)

    iv) Take the proof of residence from you ( in case you have not uploaded it)

    v) Take the proof of age from you ( in case you are between 18 and 21 years of age and have not uploaded it).

    Q7. I have submitted my Form 6 by post / in person. What happens after that ?

    Ans.The Booth Level Officer for your area shall visit you at the residence that you have given and will do the following :

    i) Confirm that you actually reside at the address mentioned by you in Form-6.

    ii) Verify your photograph with you in person.

    Q8.I am already enrolled as a voter but I have shifted my residence and I have a new address. What do I need todo now?

    Ans.In case you are already enrolled as a voter and have shifted your address, then the procedure to be followed toenroll you at your new address will depend on whether you are residing in the same Assembly Constituency or your newresidence is in a new Assembly Constituency.

    a) In case your new residence is in a different Assembly Constituency then you have to fill in Form 6. For this you caneither fill it Online or give it personally or by post. For the procedure involved, please look at Answers to Questions No. 2,3, 4 and 5 above.

    The only document that you are required to submit is the proof of your new residence such as electricity bill etc. No otherdocument is required to be submitted by you.

    b) In case your new residence is in the same Assembly Constituency then you have to fill Form 8A.

    For this you can either fill it Online or give it personally or by post. For the procedure involved, please look at Answers toQuestions No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 above.

    The only document that you are required to attach is proof of your new residence such as electricity bill etc. You are notrequired to submit any other document.

    Q9. My father has expired, what do I need to do ?

    Ans.His name and the names of all people who have expired have to be deleted from the Electoral Roll.

    For this you will have to fill Form 7. You can give it personally or by post. For the procedure involved, please look atAnswers to Questions No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 above.

    The only document that you are required need to attach is a Death Certificate. No other document is required.

    Q10. I suspect that my neighbour has got additional Voter Identity Cards (EPIC) by giving fake identities, is thereanything I can do ?

    Ans.Yes you can objectto this.For this you will have to fill Form 7. You can give it personally or by post.For theprocedure involved, please look at Answers to Questions No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 above.

    Q11.When will my name be included in the Electoral Roll?

    Ans.After your application has been accepted, your name and other details will be included in the Electoral Roll. Thename of all the accepted applications shall be published on the date of Final Publication of Electoral Roll on 5th January2012. This Electoral Roll shall be available on this website and also at all the VRECs.

    Q12. How will I get my Electors Photo Identity Card(EPIC)?

    Ans.The EPIC or Voter Identity Card for all the first time applicants whose applications have been accepted shall behanded over on National Voters Day to be celebrated on 25th January 2012. All such applicants shall be invited for thisoccasion. All other applicants shall get their Voter Identity Card by Speed Post after 15th January 2012.

    Q13.I am already a voter and want to inspect the details about myself in the Electoral Roll. Can I do this andhow?

    Ans.Yes.Go to the Home page of this website and click onCheck your Name in the Electoral Roll.

    Q14.How can I know my Assembly Constituency?

    Ans.You can get the name of your Assembly Constituency by going to the Home page of this website and clickingknowyour Assembly Constituency.

    Q15.Where can I get information on the Member of Parliament and Member of Legislative Assembly from myConstituency?

    Ans.After knowing your Assembly Constituency, you may go to the Home page and clickKnow your MLAfor gettinginformation on the Member of Assembly Constituency and clickKnow your MPfor getting information on the Member ofParliament for your Parliamentary Constituency.

    Q16.How can I get any assistance or help in respect of election related services in Delhi?

    Ans.Any assistance or help in respect of election related services is available on Telephone No.23918888 OR 1950.Any complaint on these services can also be lodged on these numbers. You can also contact us by going to the top of theHome page.

    Q17.I have recently got married.How can I get my wife enrolled at my address?

    Ans.This will depend on the following:-(a) If your wife is a voter for the first time then she will have to fill in Form-6 for enrollment as a new voter.(b) In case your wife is already a voter but not in the same Assembly Constituency (such as enrolled in some otherAssembly Constituency of Delhi, or anywhere else in India), then she will need to fill in Form-6 for change of residence.(c) If she is a voter in the same Assembly Constituency as you but needs only to change her address then, in such caseshe needs to fill in Form-8A for change of residence within the same Assembly Constituency.(d) As proof of residence she can submit a copy of her marriage certificate or copy of the marriage invitation card.

    Q18.I have received my Voter Identity Card (EPIC).However,this card contains a mistake.How do I get itcorrected?

    Ans.Such mistakes are usually in respect of age, spelling of name and address etc.(a) Please fill in Form-8 alongwith proof of the correct information. For example, for getting age corrected, please attachproof of age such as School Board Examination Result Certificate. For proving correct residence, please give proof ofresidence etc.(b) In case the mistake has been due to an error on the part of the Election Officials then the correction will be made freeof cost. In case you are responsible for the mistake in the first place such as by entering incorrect information, then youneed to pay Rs.25/- in cash at your VREC for receiving the corrected Voter Identity Card (EPIC). Please remember totake the receipt for the amount paid by you.

AmI eligible to be enrolled in Delhi? If yes, what do I need to do?

    Ans.Yes, you are most definitely eligible, provided that you are not enrolled anywhere else in the country and you areresiding within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.(a) You need to fill in Form-6 for enrollment as a new voter. Please attach your age proof if your are between the age of18 to 21.(b) As proof of residence, you have to fill in the requisite Declaration and have it duly signed by Hostel Incharge / Principal/ Registrar / Director / Dean.
