This guide describes the main tasks performed by webmasters wishing to insert a poll on their web site. It includes Vote-Pro interface, poll creation, etc. In other words, how to work with Vote-Pro as described in the following table of contents.



Introduction

Vote-Pro is a tool to create and handle multiple polls. These polls can be put on web pages on different remote web servers.

Vote-Pro is the php solution chosen by the DIGIT FPFIS team to implement the e-voting poll solution requested by DG COMM.

Vote-Pro has been customised in order to adapt it to EUROPAs multilingualism requirements.

This document explains how to administer Vote-Pro and how install a poll in a web page.

To do so we will describe the following:

A poll is composed by : - a list of questions (one question per language)

A question is composed by :-A text (example : your favorite movie ?)-A list of answers

1-Administrators: to handle users who will have access to the Vote-Pro administration interface.

3-Polls: to handle polls, questions and answers

Add a new poll

It defines the look of the poll. You can choose a design profile or own css if you want to use

Click on Edit poll to save the poll !

Here you can choose how your poll will be displayed.You can use a design profile (see How to create a new profile ) or your own CSS (see Poll PresentationHow to use your own CSS) to define the visual aspect of your poll.

Vote-Pro is multilingual. If you want a poll in differents languages, you just need to define as many questions as languages in the same poll. See below Add a new question.

you can place the new question at the bottom or at the top of the poll

if checked, the answer will be displayed in the poll

- choose: the answer is displayed with a radio button or check list- input: the answer is displayed with an input text field. The user can type a value or a text but it is always considered as a unique vote. This option is not recommended. Click on Add answer !

Dont forget that when you choose the own CSS option as design profile for a poll, the CSS code is only used by this poll and you cant apply it to another poll.If you want to use the same CSS for differents polls, creating a new design profile and affecting it to polls is a better solution.

When you create a new poll or when you edit a poll you can definewhat Design Profile you want to use.If you select own CSS into the dropdownlist, then put CSS code youwant to use into the text area field.

A design profile determines the look of polls.You can create your own profile or use the "standard_ce" profile, which is the standard profile for the website of the commission.When you create or modify a profile, you can set colour, font, decoration, border of the poll.

With a design profile, you can modify the aspect of these elements :

Minimum an user must to have a profile.A specific design profile was created for the Commission : ce_profile. This profile will be available for all the users.By default a new user has no profile, so when a new user is created, a new ce-profile must be created and affected to this new user.

This option allow the user to see all the others users.Consequently he can also see all the polls and all the design profile of the others users.

If the user has also the can add/del administrator right, he can modify or delete all the users, all the polls and all the design profiles. Hes a full administrator.
