Von Kossa Staining Protocol Preheat slide warmer to 60°C and bake sections for 30 min. 1. Xylene 5 min. Xylene 5 min. 100% EtOH 3 min. 100% EtOH 3 min. 75% EtOH 3 min. 50% EtOH 3 min. Milli-Q H 2 O 3 min. Milli-Q H 2 O 3 min. 2. Cover each section with 1% Silver Nitrate (@ 150μl). (Dilute 10% stock) 3. Expose to bright light for 30 min. 4. Wash 2X in Milli-Q H 2 O for 3 min each. 5. Cover each section with 2.5% Sodium Thiosulphate and incubate for 5 min. 6. Wash 2X in Milli-Q H 2 O for 3 min each. 7. Counterstain with Nuclear Fast Red for 5 min at room temperature. 8. Wash in Milli-Q H 2 O for 2 min. 9. Immediately dehydrate and clear slides. Use step 1 in reverse starting with 50% EtOH. 10. Add 1 drop of Permount and coverslip.

Von Kossa Staining Protocol

Preheat slide warmer to 60°C and bake sections for 30 min.

1. Xylene 5 min. Xylene 5 min.

100% EtOH 3 min. 100% EtOH 3 min. 75% EtOH 3 min. 50% EtOH 3 min. Milli-Q H2O 3 min. Milli-Q H2O 3 min.
