Sponsor a Child for Back to School

Although summer break has just started, BCM is

already working to help our clients prepare for the

next school year. Starting a new school year can

bring significant expenses to all families,

particularly to those who are already financially

strained.

BCM has nearly 30 school-aged children from

our Foundation 3 and The 70/30 Project programs

to be sponsored for Back to School. Will you

help outfit a child for school?

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Sponsor a Child or Family: Donors have the opportunity to sponsor

a child (or children) for back to school and purchase them 2

- 2 new outfits/school uniforms,

- Pair of new shoes

- Belt and/or jacket

- $20 gift card for undergarments and socks

Donate Gifts Cards: Monetary donations or Walmart and Target

gift cards are always welcomed and greatly appreciated. Financial

donations are used to help purchase additional school items for the

children.

for the summer? If so, please

remember to let Tiffany know that you

need to make changes to your schedule

or are unable to volunteer during your

regular shift. We rely on our

volunteers to serve our clients so please

compelling client stories to share with

our donors and partners. If you have a

Intake Volunteers: Recording Food

Bags Correctly! When you are entering

the number of food bags on the client

service form, please remember to

include the bag(s) for meat and pastries,

if they are not included with the other

food items.

Food Pantry Volunteers: Recycling

Expired Items. We are now donating

all expired food items to the FreeFood

Commune. Please put expired food

items in the labeled bins located in the

pantry hallway across from the

bathrooms.

Food Pantry Volunteers: We are

reorganizing the pantry! BCM is

working to reorganize the pantry to

maximize our space. Please check in

with Tiffany before your shift for

updates on the changes. Thank you for

your continued patience and support in

helping reorganize our pantry.

Adopt-a-Family this Christmas

Dear BCM Volunteers and Supporters,

For over 10 years, Buckhead Christian Ministry has served

families in crisis during the holiday season through our Joyous

Toys and Adopt-a-Family programs. Thanks to the generous

support of our church partners, donors and volunteers, more

than 900 children have received toys and gifts each year through

these programs.

This Christmas, BCM is looking to maximize our impact on the

whole family by focusing all of our efforts on our Adopt-a-

Family program. Due to the high cost of rent, low-income

families are spending more than 50% of their income on

housing which leaves little to no income for the basics. By

providing gifts for the entire family, BCM will increase the

number of households we serve and lighten the financial burden

these parents face, especially during the holidays.

We care very deeply about the families we serve and look

forward to you joining us this Christmas as we expand our

Adopt-a-Family program. Help us put joy under every tree by:

Sharing BCM’s Adopt-a-Family program with your

family, friends and social networks

Consider adopting a family through BCM

Donating gift cards to help us purchase needed items

Responsibilities:

Assist with providing client and support services to

include: client intake, helpline, data entry and

administrative tasks.

Help provide a warm, welcoming environment for

clients

Shifts: Monday - Friday

Buckhead THRIFTique Volunteer

Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service and treat all

customers with dignity and respect

Assist customers in selecting merchandise

Organize the sales floor; Sort and hang incoming

donations

Shifts: Tuesday 10am to 1pm
