We have been using the image of steps for several years in our church. Our Bicentennial theme in 2009 was “The Footprints Continue.” Then we talked about “Faith Steps to the Future” in our Capital Campaign. Let me invite you now to think about “Taking the Next Step.” Our church has decided to give everyone the opportunity to take the next step in our building program and complete the work on the Administrative Suite. Rather than leaving an unfinished shell, the idea is to increase our financial commitments to the building program so that we will not need to exceed the $3.5 million long-term debt limit and so that we will have the necessary funds to complete the project. We are not having a campaign – just a simple request in the form of a letter. You have until October 7 to turn in a form that will indicate your willingness to increase your commitment so that we can complete this space. It is the “next step” in our building process. Why is this next step important? For some it is important because completing the job is something that we value. If something is unfinished – let’s finish the task. It needs to be done sometime, so why not now? For others, the next step is important because it allows our Music Ministry to expand. Currently our Music Ministry (offices, library, and practice areas) are in very cramped spaces. If we complete the new Administrative Office area, then we will move the Music Ministry offices into some of the current offices, freeing up much-needed space near the choir room. None of that can happen until the new offices are complete. For others, the next step is important because it will create additional education space where the current offices are. This space will be very accessible and near the Sanctuary, thus making it a very desirable area for Sunday School space. If you think that taking this Next Step at this time is an important thing for our church, then you have the opportunity to make a commitment or to increase your commitment to our current capital campaign. In order to give people more time to reach this new giving goal, we will extend the capital campaign giving deadline from December, 2013 to December, 2014. I invite you to join me in taking this next step. We can finish the task now and experience the blessings in the near future. Will you help us make this possible?

Faith Steps . . . We have been using the image of steps for several years in our church. Our Bicentennial theme in 2009 was “The Footprints Continue.” Then we talked about “Faith Steps to the Future” in our Capital Campaign. Let me invite you now to think about “Taking the Next Step.”

Our church has decided to give everyone the opportunity to take the next step in our building program and complete the work on the Administrative

Suite.
