USAID Pakistan Reading Project (PRP):

PRP-Balochistan: PRP Balochistan formally initiated PRP Interventions in 6 districts of C-3 and 6 DPMs, 4 A&F Officers and 27 (Female 10, Male 17) SSAs were taken on-board. A 7-day face to face training of district staff (DPM & SSA) for cohort III districts was completed. Total 6 DPMs and 27 SSAs actively participated. 47 Quarterly TIG meetings (Cohort-II) were also conducted. Meetings were held with HOO along with M&E Coordinator, RIS Specialist and Policy & System Manager who met with the new Secretary Education Mr. Noor ul Haq Baloch and briefed him on PRP interventions in the Balochistan Province. The RIS Specialist and Policy and System Manager also met with the Chairman of Textbook Board, Mr. Hashim Tareen, and discussed the integration of RLM into Balochistan text book of Grade -1 &2. A meeting was

also conducted with Director PITE, Mr. Dawood, to discuss way forward on CPD strategic plan. PRP – FATA : During the month of February, 32 Teachers were trained through TIG meetings, 115 School support visits were conducted by Mentors while 87 School Support visits were conducted by SSAs. FATA Senate Standing Committee for Safron appreciated PRP-IRM FATA’s intervention in selected agencies of FATA. Preparatory work started in three new agencies of Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai and one F.R. of D.I. Khan which included the conduction of introductory meetings with respective AEOs and political administration of new Agencies, completion of the initial clustering of schools and the collection of enrollment data.

Gwadar Lasbela Livelihood Support Project (GLLSP): The overall project aims to provide vocational trainings to 4,884 targeted beneficiaries of 26 UC (17 UC of Lasbela 70% and 09 UC of Gwadar 30%). During the month of February, a total of 142 participants graduated in Balochi Embroidery and 46 participants

graduated in Hand Embroidery 26 in Electrician training. Purchased 1,759 toolkits and distribution is underway.

Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project (PYWDP): IRM in partnership with Louis Berger is currently implementing USAID PYWDP in Southern Punjab. The main objective of this project is to enhance the capacity of the selected rural youth beneficiaries from Districts Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur, through market driven technical and vocational trainings and apprenticeship programme to generate monthly income at house hold level and Capacity Building of local public TVET institutes. Last month, 19 TIs were finalized, a detailed assessment of 11 TIs was conducted and 50 Participants were

selected for ToTs from the 08 Assessed VTIs. Other activities included attending a 02 day Project Annual Retreat in Lahore and presenting progress for ICB, finalizing the equipment procurement details for 08 VTIs of PVTC As well as the procurement details for 03 GVTI and GTTI of TEVTA. A meeting with Fatima Memorial Hospital was also conducted for drafting concept note for curricula development for clinical assistant trade.

UNICEF : IRM has been awarded Long Term Arrangement (LTA) by UNICEF Pakistan for the year 2017-19 to create an efficient system of training services required by all the sections of UNICEF through one window operation. During the month of February, 1025 participants are being trained in Two day polio campaign staff training in KP while 271 participants are enrolled in ongoing training in FATA region. Other

activities that were conducted in February include the submission of training report to UNICEF, submission of Evaluation report to UNICEF & Submission of partial invoices of KP region to UNICEF. A budget for polio training (41 events) in UNICEF low performance districts such as Kohat, Nowshehra, Mardan,Bajour, FR D.I.Khan, FR Lakki, Mohmand was also prepared and submitted.

Ride in Pink Project:

During the month of Feb, 09 women have completed their Rickshaw Driving training under “Ride in Pink” project. Through Ride In Pink” project sustainable and decent work opportunities are created for disadvantaged young women in women managed transportation company/cooperative (WTC) aiming at overcoming mobility barriers for other young women and girls in Chakwal. Other activities carried out during the last month include: completion of one week rickshaw maintenance and repairing training,

printing of “Rickshaw Driving Training” Certificates and sharing with Plan for signatures and signing of MOU with Ocean Cable Private Ltd and Bol FM 88 - Gul Enterprises Private Ltd for promotion and job advertisement of WTC staff. Meetings were held with Rawaj Abaya Center and Imran Khan Burqa Store for the sample of rickshaw drivers dress. The team also visited local market with Plan staff for the selection of rickshaw drivers dress/uniform.

IRM Sindh: IRM Sindh is implementing the SEF funded Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP). The AALTP aims to provide accelerated formal primary education for vulnerable adolescents and basic functional literacy for adults together with a certified Skill Development / Vocational Training course for each learner so as to enable their socio economic growth. IRM Sindh has currently enrolled 1,220 Learners at 6

centers comprising of 810 registered adolescents and 410 adults. Coordination meetings were held with SEF on 8th Feb, 2018 at SEF head office Karachi, in which Skill component strategies were discussed. IRM Team also participated in AALTP MIS Training on 21st Feb, 2018 at SEF Karachi office.

Sindh Union Council and Community Economic Strengthening Support (SUCCESS) Project:

IRM is implementing the three year EU/NRSP funded SUCCESS project in four Districts of Sindh (Matiari, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, and

Sujawal.) During the month of February, 166 participants graduated in domestic tailoring and 37 in motor bike repairing

IRM Strategic Meeting 2018: The two day meeting was held on February 06 & 07, 2018 at IRM Complex. IRM Management and Professional staff attended the meeting. Sessions included the follow up of Strategic Meeting 2016, SWOT, Annual Review (Financial/Programme), Performance review of sections and staff,

presentations and discussion on resource mobilization, programme efficiency/improving our systems, increasing efficiency, branding and marketing and identifying potential donors/contractors/CSOs/Government Agencies.

Major Milestone - IRM Silver Jubilee:

IRM has completed its 25 years in 2018. In this regard, IRM will be hosting a series of events to celebrate its

Silver Jubilee!! Event schedule will include a conference, exhibition and time capsule ceremony.
