CPNC NEWS BUSINESS NAME 4 November 2016 Volume 3 Issue 36 Message from Mrs Harding.. What an exciting week this has been. Firstly the build-up to our trip away and then finally the dawning of Thursday and Sugar Bay here we come! This is an absolute must on the bucket list of any Grade 1 and 2 pupil for the future. We boarded the buses with great excitement and a teary wave from the parents. What better way to spend the trip than munching away at the goodies that had been packed. From the time we arrived at the gate, the Sugar Bay counsellors took charge and tucked all our little ones right under their wings. Safety and fun is a priority at Sugar Bay—and boy did they have fun! The food was excellent and the queues for seconds and salads was never-ending. The accommodation is totally kid-friendly and most comfortable. Activities included time at the beach playing games in the sand and activities in the lagoon where they learnt to body-board and surf. Land activities included craft activities, skate-boarding, rock climbing, bungee swing and trampoline as well as swimming in the pool and of course taking turns on Sugar Bay’s very own super tube slide. The tuck shop was frequented by the children who enjoyed their shopping and eating their purchases. A few gifts were bought to take home as well. The evening carnival was a great hit and helped to tire the children so that they would definitely get a good night’s rest; ready for Day 2. The children participated in apple-bobbing, fishing, dart throwing, sumo wrestling, surfing on a mechanical surfboard and so much more. Up with the sparrows this morning and although a little tired, ready for another day of fun. The weather was amazing and all in all a fantastic two days away from school. Closer bonds were formed and new friendships made. Life skills were learnt and we all survived - the children, very easily; the teachers coped and the parents made it through the night! Sugar Bay 2017 will be booked as soon as possible so we don’t miss out!
