Saint Francis Medical Center’s Comprehensive Lung Cancer Clinic has decreased diagnosis to treatment time for lung cancer patients.

OSF Saint Francis Healthcare’s CEO, Kevin Schoeplein was named one of 300 of the nation’s top health care leaders by Becker’s Hospital Review. The recognition is for “admirable dedication to the improvement of health care delivery at local, regional and national levels.

Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service was selected by the Finishing Contractors Association to receive a $1000 grant as a part of the FCAI’s 2012 Community Care Program.

Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service and Center for Youth & Family Solutions was awarded $7500 for Building Bright Futures from the Caterpillar Community Leadership Fund.

Quality Quest for Health of Illinois was awarded a grant of $2.4 million for reducing obesity, increasing adherence to preventive care recommendations, and decreasing death and disability due to tobacco use, heart disease and stroke in Peoria and Tazewell Counties. Quality Quest applied for the 2-year funding on behalf of 14 collaborative partners that came together as the Partnership for a Healthy Community. Collaboration partners include the Central Illinois Wellness Council, Peoria County Health Department, Tazewell County Health Department, City of Peoria, YMCA, The George Washington Carver Association, Hult Center for Healthy Living, Gifts in the Moment, FamilyCore, Heartland

Community Health Clinic, American Red Cross Central Illinois Chapter, Children’s Hospital of Illinois, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Center for Outcomes Research and Quality Quest for Health of Illinois.

Teen Challenge Peoria recognized Peoria Production Shop with their 2012 Service Award on September 27, 2012. Each year Teen Challenge honors a Peoria based organization for faithful service to the Community.

Dr. Norman and Brenda Johnson, Principals of Advanced Inmate Medical Management, LLC, (AIMM), a new business based in Peoria, announced the installation of the new electronic inmate medical records software program in a facility in Huntsville, Alabama. President Brenda Johnson adds that the AIMM software is currently being used in an Indiana jail where it was launched earlier this year. Dr. Norman and Brenda Johnson also own Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc., headquartered in Peoria.

JDRF & Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes would like to thank Running Central & RC Race Management for spending countless hours organizing the Detweiller at Dark XC Race. The race generated $5,200 to assist JDRF’s mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. JDRF would also like to recognize the volunteer efforts of Julie Driscoll of Connor & Co., A.J. Boore of Bremer Jewelry, Amanda Streitmatter of Dunlap, Amy Steward of Tyson Foods, Lori Coffey of Pastoral Care

Methodist Medical Center is now one of only 30 hospitals in
