A Message From Our President
The Chamber, City andcommunity are deeply saddenedby the sudden loss of ourbeloved Mayor Walter “Skip”Campbell. Mayor Campbell led ourCity with passion, vision, andoutstanding leadership. He was amentor to so many of us and a
good friend and advocate of our Chamber.Mayor Campbell was elected as Mayor of CoralSprings in November 2014, re-elected inNovember 2016, and was unopposed in the2018 election. He had been a resident of CoralSprings for 36 years and was one of the originalmembers of the Economic DevelopmentFoundation. He was board-certified as a civil triallawyer by The Florida Bar in 1983.
Mayor Campbell previously served in the FloridaSenate from 1996 to 2006. He was anaccomplished legislator and proudly served thecommunities of the western portions of centraland northern Broward County. During his timein the Senate, he passed 112 bills benefiting theCommunity Redevelopment Agency (CRA) andother worthy causes.
I had recently had a conversation with MayorCampbell regarding speaking to the Chamber’sgovernment affairs Committee. He had a plan tocirculate petitions to put an assault weapon ban
