What a great time we had at Lager and Vine on Tuesday, October 22nd. Our hosts for the evening were Sue and Dick Robinson and they created such a warm and welcoming Evening—=hugs all around. A big shout out to them for a great job.

On November 5th, Ron and Judy Zelenak stepped up to the plate and arranged for a special evening at one of their favorite places, The Rosewood Grill. The evening started out with a cocktail hour and we had our own

private space to enjoy the company of all our friends. The food and service were fabulous. Thanks so much to new members, Ron and Judy, for creating such a wonderful night.

There is no dinner scheduled for December but Al and Barb Beck will be hosting on January 13th at 5:00 p.m. when we will return to one of our favorites—Zeppe’s Bistro & Pizzeria, 5843 Darrow Rd, Hudson. Please contact Al Beck at 330-650-6531 or [email protected] for questions and to reserve your space. A registration form will be coming soon and remember to bring your coupons!

Thanks to the guidance of Kathleen Mowinski and the hard work of Joe and Karin Hensel, Larry and Sue Schmersal, Marilyn and Harold Hughes and Ron and Judy Berschig, the Ted “Teddy Mo” Mowinski Memorial Road Rallye was a rousing success. Named in honor of beloved L.A.M. Past President Ted Mowinski, the Rallye was run on Sunday and Monday, October 27 and 28. We found our way to the Spread Eagle Tavern and Inn in Hanoverton for a delicious lunch. After much commiseration and with renewed energy, we ended the trip in Dublin, OH at the Embassy Suites. We shared snacks, wine, Gracie Greco's birthday cake, beer and appetizers. I think you get the drift. After breakfast the next morning, a plethora of awesome prizes (very cost ef-fective, but awesome none-the-less) were awarded to almost everyone. Then it was off to the outlets and homeward bound.

It’s one of our favorite evenings. A rousing game of Bunco with lots of CASH prizes, snacks and beverages supplied by the World Renown LA.M. Bartend-ers! The game is fast and totally random so it requires minimal attention. We rotate partners frequently so you will get to know many of the folks in attendance by the end of the evening. If you are new to L.A.M., this is the

event for you! But the best part is the many, many CASH prizes. We award CASH to the biggest winners, the biggest losers and high score amongst each of the flights.

We’ll be playing on Friday, November 22nd starting at 6:30 p.m. and concluding around 9:00 p.m. The cost to play is minimal at $5.00 per person payable prior to the event. A registration is coming soon to your email box and also can be found in the Brown Narthex. Return it with your payment made out to St. Mary L.A.M. to the parish office (mail, drop off or Sunday collection will work). Direct all questions to chair Marilyn Orr at [email protected] or 513-236-8505. Just ask yourself the Clint Eastwood question, “Do you feel lucky tonight?”

On a chilly and rainy November day, 34 wonderful ladies attended the November 7th Ladies' L.A.M. Book Club Meeting. No one was disappointed!! Carol Lasko did a marvelous job of presenting Fannie Flagg's Can't Wait to Get to

Heaven from giving us background on the author, helping us laugh at the character's names, to summarizing this funny (yet serious) novel on "Life" and "Death!" We all agreed "Our goal is making getting to heaven" top on our list!! By baking recipes from the book and adding lots of other special treats, Peggy Galligan, Margaret Monroe and Jeanine Szalay outdid themselves with the goodies and festive decorations. Imagine, they even admitted to having lots of fun doing all this hard work.

December 12th is our Christmas Party. No book to read and discuss just come and have a fun time. Please wear red or green attire and plan to bring a book (wrapped) that you enjoyed and want to share with someone else. We will play a game to make the book exchange more fun. Our goodies are being prepared by Alice Caniglia, Joan Tobin, Barb Beck, Janet Lennon and Bernadette Kennedy. Bring a healthy appetite. I will again ask Polly Wise to take another "stellar" group picture--so be prepared to stay a few minutes over.

Back to reading for January 2, 2020 (check out all those two's)....we will be discussing The Only

Woman in the Room by Marie Benedict and Jeanine Szalay will lead the discussion. Marilyn Hughes, Marilyn Orr, and Anne Jordan will have goodie duty! Please remember that we need three more facilitators for March, April and May. We will appreciate your volunteering to Help

Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving. Stay well and happy until we meet on

December 12th! Susan Klein and Sharon Zolan

Thanks to hosts Larry and Sue Schmersal for arranging the theater outing to Kent State for the energetic student performance of “Hair”. It was a trip down memory lane that was so poignant because 2020 will be the 50th

Anniversary of the Shootings at Kent State. There were many conversations, before and after the performance, about where were you on that date and how it impacted your life. Theater can do that like nothing else. Later, we continued our fellowship with dinner at Zeppe’s.

Can it be coming so soon? It seems like Fall has just arrived and it is time to mark the calendar for the 2019 L.A.M. New Year’s Eve Eve Celebration. We will be returning to the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg on Monday, December 30, 2019. Elaine Montgomery and her committee will transport you to a fantasy wonderland.

At 5:00 p.m., we will mingle with a cash bar (cocktails and beverage available) and lively conversation. Dinner will start at 6:00 p.m. You will have your choice of Traditional Roasted Pork Loin with Sauerkraut, Chicken Piccata or Baked Haddock with salad, rolls & butter, sides, dessert and coffee or tea. The cost remains one of the best bargains in town at $25 per L.A.M. member. Guests may attend for $35. Black tie and formal wear is optional.

After dinner, we will be entertained by Vocalists Raine Austin and Dave Pratt. They will be accompanied by David Millen on the tenor saxophone in a special program titled “All About Love”. If you have a special request for the program, please contact Elaine Montgomery at 330-603-2015 or [email protected]. We want to make this night special for all in attendance. Reservation deadline is December 21st.

Registration forms will be coming to your email soon. Please make out your check to St. Mary L.A.M. with “NYEE” in the memo field and return to the Parish Office or via the Sunday Collection Plate.
