HAPPY BIRTH-DAY to the UNIT-ED STATES OF AMERICA! How fortunate we are to be living in the greatest country in
the world. It is important to re-member and thank those who fought and sacrificed for our rights and freedoms. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Once again, the FRW had a great 4th of July float, winning 3rd place in our category. Mem-bers “Celebrated 50 Years of Fun” by hosting a picnic with family and friends. We had some awesome raffle prizes at the FRW booth in Out of Town Park. We will also have an oppor-tunity drawing with awesome prizes at our annual Membership Reception on July 17th. A FREE event to introduce our NEW members and to show our appre-ciation to ALL our members. We truly hope to see you there! I want to personally welcome and thank all our new members. Thanks to all of you, we have in-creased our full memberships by 21.6% and our associate mem-berships by a whopping 51.9%. This far exceeds the NvFRW’s goal of a 20% increase in mem-berships! WOW!! The FRW had a busy 2018 Primary season hosting candi-dates and candidate forums. The voter turnout for Lyon County was less than stellar at only 26.43%. We have several critical
local and state offices that will be decided at the General election in November. In order to elect the NvFRW’s slate of conservative Republicans to these positions, we will need to work to drastically increase the voter turnout. IF there is a rogue blue wave on the horizon, we can stop it with a highly energized RED WALL. We are currently accepting donations for the FRW’s annual garage sale on Friday, August 10th and Saturday, August 11th, at the home of Judy Williams. OUR BIGGEST YEARLY FUNDRAISER! Please make sure the items are clean and in good condition. We also need to collect large boxes and plastic grocery bags for the garage sale. Please remember this when on your next shopping trip. Please contact me at: (775) 830-8988 or at: [email protected] to discuss FRW club business and/or any fundraising ideas you have.

Prayer Request
Peggy Zinski is the former FRW and NvFRW Chaplain. She and her husband, Tom, moved to Michigan a couple of years ago. I received the following email: Tom is in hospital again. He has been there for 7 days and will be transferred to in-patient rehabilitation facility on Monday, where he will be for almost a full month. He is really weak. Please ask everyone to pray for him and me. I am having a hard time coping and sleeping with worry about him. I am really scared this time.

June 12, 2018 This month, Califor-nia Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown signed probably the most restrictive water consumption law in the country. Under the new statute, starting in 2022 every California man, woman and child will be restricted to 55 gallons of water use per day. For a family of four, that’s 220 gallons per day. The penalties for us-
ing more water than your allocation under this newest socialist Democrat program? Between $1,000 and $10,000 per day. We know California has a water problem, stem-ming especially from the large agricultural regions of the state and their great irrigation requirements. The state’s nearly 40 million people also use a lot of water. Enforcement? Apparently there will be “water police” reviewing ratepayers’ daily metered use. They’ll report violations to users’ water utility companies, which will be assessed the fines. The water utilities will pass on those costs one way or another. Spreading them across all ratepayers evenly would raise a firestorm, so they will surely be charged to the offending parties. There will be some exemptions, allowing for pri-vate swimming pools and the like. But why? If you are going to restrict people to 55 gallons of water use per day, which is basically enough to take one very brief shower and run one load of laundry, why would swimming pools even be allowed for private citizens anymore? That seems to be completely contrary to what Moonbeam and the Beautiful People seek to accom-plish -- unless they are hoping that people with pri-vate swimming pools will use them for bathing to stay within their water limitations. Why stop at restricting the private citizens’ wa-ter use this way? There are many other opportuni-ties to reduce overall water use in the state. Outlaw private swimming pools, which can hold between 10,000 and 30,000 gallons of water. Eliminate golf courses, which require a flood of water. It may keep former President Obama and President Trump out of your state, but is that real-
ly a problem for the good people of the Golden State? Those two can play golf in Florida or Ha-waii! Uhm, shower with a friend? Why not just outlaw farming? California agri-culture uses much more water than all the people who live there combined. This would save all the water needed. Of course, it may be hard to put food on the table, but whatever. According to Moonbeam and his posse, water must be conserved at all costs. Levy fines against restaurants that serve water to their patrons. Mandate landscaping that does not use any wa-ter. Say goodbye to grass in California, unless, of course, it is the type you smoke. Speaking of grass, California could eliminate the entire marijuana industry in the state and stop all that water usage. The wine making industry as well. Make sure you have plenty of water cops at all the reservoirs in case some crafty citizens try to supplement their water supply by filling large con-tainers right at the source. And make sure there are plenty of state police to throw those lawbreak-ers in jail for the crime of getting a little more wa-ter for their family. Rename Grass Valley to Xeriscape Valley, since there will be no more grass without water. California’s statist, progressive, politically cor-rect Democrats have done it again. But their pre-sumably good intentions to fix the state’s long term water issues will just put more restrictions on the average law-abiding person. Just like almost any proposed gun law. Our advice? If you believe in freedom, get out! You have until 2022 before this law goes into full effect, providing you four years to formulate a plan to leave California and move somewhere that still believes in freedom and individual liberties. But please, if you think this continued march toward progressive nirvana is a good thing, do not depart. Stay there. We don’t want any more Dem-ocrat socialists invading Nevada. We don’t want your sanctuary state loving, water restricting, me-thane taxing, drinking-straw withholding brand of foolishness any more than we want your earth-quakes. Also, we can do without your traffic snarls, overpriced everything, water rationing, tax increases, trigger warnings and safe spaces. Most of us in the Silver State have no desire to become East California.
