Today we pray that we receive Your special blessing because
we are committed to be a real service organization to help
humankind. May each of us in our daily routine come to know
the joy of caring and sharing with others not as fortunate as

When it began
I can’t believe it happened
But then I know it’s going strong
2001
That’s when it came to being
Who’d have believed we’ll grow to
be…
Hands, touching hands
Reaching out, touching me, touch-
ing you
Sweet Rotary
Sta. Rosa Centro’s good
I’ve been inclined
To believe we’re going strong
And now, I…
Look all around
So many help is needed
C’mon, together I know we could
And when we hurt,
We can just smile and bear it
‘Coz we were born to serve and be….
Warm, touching warm
Reaching out, touching me, touching you
Sweet Rotary
Sta. Rosa Centro’s good
We’re going strong
We are here for all of you
Sweet Rotary Sta. Rosa Centro’s…

President’s Message
Good day ladies!
This week was truly filled with activities. We cele-
brated the 109th anniversary of Rotary. Numerous
rotarians from various clubs of District 3820 joined
the motorcade which ended at Calamba’s Rizal Park.
We also had the talk on Child Trafficking organized
by our director for community service, Evs Laranga.
I would like to thank everyone that have contributed
their time and support for these Rotarian activities.
As March 8 draws nears, I wish to remind everyone
of our project, "Buntis Wellness 4” so once again I
am appealing for everyone's help and cooperation.
Yours in rotary service,
First Class President Teodora “Doray’” Lucero

Reflections
“Every Rotary club should be made a forum
before which vital economic and social
problems may be fairly and intelligently
discussed. Club programs should stimulate
thought, widen the horizon, and deepen
conviction.” — The Program for the Year,

For your Information
To date, Batan Island still has a few remnants of the Span-
ish rule, seen its its old fashioned edifices, centuries old
Spanish churches and an old Spanish bridge.
Rent a bike and wing through sweeping panoramas of rug-
ged terrains, gorgeous valleys and coastline repeatedly un-
der attack by waves.
Say hello to Racuh Apayaman, touted as the Marlboro
Country, a communal pastureland. Marvel at the undulating
valley, hills and green meadows where wa-
ter buffalo, horses and cattle roam freely.
The ancient coastal village of Diura is also worth checking
especially during the fishing season when they perform
the Kapayvanuvanua ritual.

If you are up for more adventure, you can hike up the
dormant Mt.Iraya in Basco, just coordinate with your hotel for a
local guide.
Cross to the well-preserved Sabtang Island where you will find
well-preserved Ivatan Culture.
Wander around Savidug and Chavayan for the stone houses.
Take home the remarkable hand-woven vakul from Sabtang
Weavers Association.
Do not leave Sabtang without exploring the astounding natural
arch formation on its shores.
Batanes is bathed in serenity and dramatic scenery. No wonder
it has virtually zero crime rate – a testament to which is
the Honesty Coffee Shop. Drop by anytime!

5. Other Matters
a. Secretary Precy announced the ID Nos. of our two latest mem-bers:
Dra. Jen : 8773225
Dra. Auralyn: 8773229
b. Our DISCON will have the theme: Broadway
c. Regarding donation of our sister club RC Wodonga West:
AG Leni said that the donation has two parts:
$1,200 AUS given by the Club. PP Matt mentioned that
we may choose to allocate it for BATS but not compulsory.
$1,000 AUS given by an individual through the club. The
donor requests that the money be used to buy two (2)
Aqua Boxes. Given the input that aqua boxes are no long-er needed by the victims, PP Matt will try to persuade the
donor to allow us to use the money for another thing.
Gov. Chit gave her suggestion that we instead divert the dona-
tion to the District project of a schoolbuilding in Iloilo (also
Yolanda victims)
Another option is to give the donation to TRF with a project
also on schoolbuildings for Yolanda victims.
The Club decided to divert the $1,200 AUS Club donation to
the District 3820 Project for Iloilo.
Should PP Matt be able to persuade the donor of the $1,000
AUS to change the Aqua Box request, the Club decided to allo-
cate it to the TRF Project. Of course, should the donor insist on the aqua box, we will comply.
d. Buntis Wellness
All participants for pap smear, ligation and check up will be
pre-screened by Dorays Paanakan 1 week before, and a list of
accepted participants will be provided for Registration. There
will be no walk ins.
We will ask Mayor Arlene to sponsor food. Pres. Doray will
send the letter. Ligation patients need to have soup or lugaw
after the procedure.
Pres. Doray will call a special meeting to thresh out details
about this event.

One of the most beautiful thing in the
world is a woman's heart. It is fragile yet
strong. Delicate yet resilient. When a
woman gives you her heart, she gives her
most prized possession. If you love,
nurture, cherish and protect it, she'll give
you the world.
