VOLUME 1, NUMBER 3 NOVEMBER 2016

The Pre-K class has been working hard on the letter Pp, the number 4, the colors orange and black, and the shape of oval.  We're getting really good at using teamwork to solve problems and at finding the words we need to use with our friends in order to be good communicators.  Our group has become a family and we enjoy celebrating each others' successes together.   Along with our academic lessons and character education lessons, we have so many fun sensory experiences and have learned that it's alright to make a mess as long as we clean it up when we are finished.  This month, we've enjoyed making and playing with play-doh, mixing red and yellow paint with shaving cream to create orange jack-o-lanterns on our tables with our hands, picking the seeds out of a sunflower, and creating our very own icky spider web.  We've also had a chance to go on an apple and pumpkin picking trip where we were able to try some apple cinnamon donuts and homemade cider.

Some of our most exciting events were the Fall Festival that the Eighth Grade hosted and the Halloween parade.  The hay maze and huge bubble maker at the festival were our favorite, although all of the activities were fun, and we were very excited to lead the Halloween parade.

We can't wait to continue to dive right into our creativity while learning.

Conference scheduling link can beaccessed from the Hamburg School

website or the school’s Facebook page.

Grade 3

Mrs. Colyer and Ms. Windish’s third grade class has been working hard to keep their

math skills out of the trash! Students played a game called Trashketball. By

working in groups, students prepared for their test on addition and subtraction.

Each group had a minute to decide on an answer to each question. At the end of the trashketball round students got to

shoot their answers into the trash for extra points! Working as a team was a game

winning experience!
