Blessed Trini ty Parish
The Solemnity of the
Institution of the Polish Na-
tional Catholic Church, March
11, 2012, was a very special
day in the life of our Eastern
Diocese. Prime Bishop Antho-
ny Mikovsky installed Bishop
Paul Sobiechowski as the
sixth Bishop Ordinary of our
Eastern Diocese.
Ten from Blessed Trinity
attended the installation and
banquet that followed at Holy
Trinity Cathedral in Manches-
ter, NH. Eric and Cliff were
two of the four altar servers
and Fr. Rob, as a member of
the diocesan liturgical com-
mission, served as one of the
Masters of Ceremony for the
Installation Liturgy and pre-
pared the booklet for this
sacred liturgy.
Bishop Paul was elected
a candidate for bishop at the
2010 PNCC General Synod
and consecrated a Bishop on
October 18, 2011. Bishop
Paul became our diocesan
bishop on December 1, 2011.
A new spirit has come to
our diocese under the direc-
tion of our new diocesan
shepherd. Bishop had a spe-
cial luncheon and meeting
with all the clergy of our dio-
cese in his home in January of
2012. He has begun a pro-
cess of going to every parish
within the diocese for a “Meet
and Greet” to get to know the
individual parishes and an-
swer any questions our peo-
ple may have. Our parish
welcomed Bishop Paul and
Karen on Easter Wednesday,
April 11 2012, for a delicious
pot luck supper and meeting
discussing our parish and the
future vision for our diocese.
Let us all do our part to live
and spread the gospel of sal-
vation through our Holy
Church.

The Union of Scranton is a union
of Churches and their bishops gov-
erning them that is determined to
maintain and pass on the Catholic
faith, worship, and essential struc-
ture of the Undivided Church of the
first millennium. The Union of
Scranton finds its origins in the
development of the Union of
Utrecht on September 24, 1889, at
Utrecht, Holland. There a determi-
nation was made and recorded in
three documents that formed the
Convention of Utrecht: the
“Declaration,” the “Agreement,”
and the “Regulations” (Statutes).
The full communion of the Church-
es found its expression and was
evident in the bishops uniting to
form a Bishops’ Conference, which
other bishops later joined. Since
the Polish National Catholic Church
(PNCC) continues to hold the
Declaration of Utrecht as a nor-
mative document of faith, the
development of the Union of
Scranton follows a similar de-
sign.
The Union of Scranton emerged
because certain member
Churches of the Union of
Utrecht unilaterally began to
ordain women to the Priesthood
and to bless same-sex unions in
opposition to Holy Scripture and
the Sacred Tradition of the Un-
divided Church. Since Novem-
ber 20, 2003 the PNCC is nei-
ther in communion, nor affiliat-
ed with the Churches of the
Union of Utrecht.
Preamble 1 & 2 - The Nordic
Catholic Church is a member of
the Union of Scranton and
through them parishes in
Germany and Sweden as
well. Please keep the Union
of Scranton in your prayers.
