Principal Palmer’s Note Wow, it’s hard to believe that Halloween is behind us, it’s November, and the beginning of the Holiday season. We have a number of exciting events taking place this month so please allow me a minute to share with you some of them. VETERAN’S DAY All students will be celebrating Veteran’s day on Monday, November 11. At Lake Louise, Mrs. Scarpelli, our music teacher and choral director, will lead an assembly for all students that will include patriotic songs from our fifth and sixth grade chorus and essays written by sixth graders will be read aloud. Additionally, our own Veteran, Mr. Jedlink will again create a display outside his office commemorating our military. We encourage everyone to wear their red, white, and blue on this day. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the men and women who are or have served in the military to defend the freedoms we enjoy. We greatly appreciate your sacrifice! REPORT CARDS I wanted to remind you that Progress Reports will be coming home on Friday, November 22 for grades first through sixth. continued on page 2 PTA President’s Note Make sure to LIKE us on Facebook! www.facebook.com/LakeLouisePTA THE LION’S PRIDE Volume 1 Issue 3 Interested in becoming a PTA member? It is hard to believe we saw the first few snow flakes of the year during afternoon pick up last week! We wanted to take a few moments and thank all our volunteers. While we are still in the first few months of school - we have had plenty of hard working family members making sure our kids have had a good time at various PTA events. A lot of time and eort goes into each event and we are very thankful for everyone’s support. If you are looking for a way to get involved or help out - please let us know ([email protected]). We hope to see you at our meetings too. Our November meeting will feature a guest speaker from the police department to discuss school and answer questions about school safety. We hope to see you there! Thank you to all the friends and families of Lake Louise who came out to support our PTA at the September Dine-n-Share Hopefully you enjoyed some good food and laughs with your friends! Parent/Teacher conferences are November 25th and 26th. Remember to contact your child’s teacher to arrange a conference if you have not already.

Meet new people, share your ideas for your child’s school,

be a role model, become more educated about school policies

and issues, and HAVE FUN!

It is hard to believe we saw the first few snow flakes of the year during afternoon pick up last week! We wanted to take a few moments and thank all our volunteers. While we are still in the first few months of school - we have had plenty of hard working family members making sure our kids have had a

good time at various PTA events. A lot of time and effort goes into each event and we are very thankful for everyone’s support. If you are looking for a way to

get involved or help out - please let us know ([email protected]). We hope to see you at our meetings too. Our November meeting will feature a guest speaker from the police department to discuss school and answer

!!!!Mr. Palmer’s Note Continued !

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES Parent / Teacher Conferences will be held November 25 and 26. If you have not yet made an appointment with your child’s teacher, please do so at your earliest convenience. It is very important that you attend these meetings, as the conference will allow the teacher to share with you the progress of your child and provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. !Finally, please remember that Wednesday, November 27 is a Student Non-Attendance day, so enjoy your Thanksgiving break. !Respectfully, Adam Palmer !

Remember to continue to bring in those Box Tops. We are also

enrolled in Labels for Education through Caputo and Sons. Just drop off your Caputo and Son's receipts

from now until December 27th with your name, address, and/or phone

number to be entered into Caputo's sweepstakes to win $500 in

groceries or an iPod shuffle. All information will be kept confidential. Send these in an envelope or baggie

with your child’s name and room #. All labels, Box Tops and receipts can be dropped in the collection box by

the gym or in the office. !!Do you have outgrown or unused bikes

in your garage? Do you want to encourage kids to do well in school? Do

you want a tax deduction?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you should bring your bikes to the Pedal

Power bike drive on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The

bikes are donated to students in the Chicago Public Schools as a reward for good grades.

You can donate working, gently used bikes at many locations in the northern suburbs.

The one in Palatine is: !Mike’s Bike Shop, 155 N Northwest Hwy,

Palatine, IL 60067 !Your donations are tax deductible, you will motivate and reward a deserving child, you will have a cleaner garage, and you will give

that bike a new purpose. If you have questions, you can visit

www.gopedalpower.com or email [email protected]. !

Thanks for your consideration, The Pedal Power Team !!!!!!

Thanks to Vicki Filipponio and Kristen Marini for a successful Lake Louise Garage Sale! We made over $450! Thank you also to all the
