COURSE OBJECTIVES The main objectives of this course are

1. To make the students study about the different sources of electrical power generation.

2. To teach the students about the process involved for harnessing electrical power from different sources available.

3. To teach the students about the general layout of a substation. 4. To explain the necessity of tariffs and importance of power factor

improvement. 5. To explain the necessity and different methods of grounding.

The students study about the process that is carried out while doing an estimation for electrical work such as for Domestic premises, Service mains, Power circuits, Substations and Overhead Transmission lines. The mere cost of all the components are tabulated and the final estimation table is prepared.
