The John RobinsonCircus arrived hareat 11i45 a.m. fromiraterbury, Conn. Theshow ia on one trainof 28 cars (7 horsecare, 14 flats, end7 sleepers). They areusing 52 waqons, plustwo tractors, an autoand a spool wagon.

Everything was pain-ted orange. The cernumbara arai Horsecars 100-106> flatcars 114-128| sleepera 88-94 anda dining car un-numbered.

Because they were so lategetting in everything eas rush-ed. The big top and menagerie•ere sidewalled. The afternoonahoei started at 4 p.m. end the•night show started at 8|15 p.".They had a email crowd in theafternoon, but a big crowd atthe night shoe.

All the tents were down endoff the lot by the time the bigshow was over. The big top camedown About 11i30 p.«. and it wasall loeded on the care beforet a.m. when the shoe Isft forits date at Worth Adame, Maes.

SINCE the first calliope went too-tling down a main street and the

first elephants, holding one another'stails in their trunks, lumbered pastcrowds on the sidewalk, circuses havemeant pink lemonade and peanuts tourchins with drooling mouths. Nowcomes cover artist Stevan Dohanoswith the news thnt circuses meanpalate-tickling excitement to cowstoo. Poster paste—a succulent mix-ture of flour and water, and coppersulphate to keep it from souring—it seems is the bovine equivalent ofa dry martini. The two KinglingBrothers Bamum and Bailey bill posters, Bill Feigley and BobAikens, who consented to pooe for Dohanos, keep a wary eye onhorned kibitzers while covering previous circus posters with theirown particular brand. Poster paste is so irresistible that Bossy willchew a poster right off a barn if she gets a chance.
