SITUATION VACANT
1. One post for the engagement of PhD student is available in the research project titled “Reclamation Effectiveness of
Amendments in Relation to Different EC,: SAR Ratios of Salt-Affected Soils of Different Textures” Project ID 4926, to
be run by the Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences. Qualification: M.Sc. (Hons.) Soil Science with no 3rd Div.
in the carrier at a consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000/- p.m. Applicants having experience related to Soil and Water
Environmental Chemistry who are not in receipt of any scholarship will be preferred. Already employed but on leave
of any type will not be considered for appointment. Employed candidates should en-route their applications through
proper channel. The last date for the receipt of applications in the office of the Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza PI, HEC
Funded Project Institute of Soil & Environmental Sciences UAF is 22nd September, 2015.
2. Applications on plain paper are invited from the female residential students for Computer Lab. Attendant to engage in
female hostels on hourly basis in the University. The application alongwith attested copies of their Academic
Certificates and CNIC should reach in the Office of the Chief Hall Warden upto 12-09-2015 during office hours.
NOTIFICATION
Applications were invited from PhD scholars along with research proposals for Exchange Program but most of the PhD
scholars were not available at UAF due to summer session, 2015. The PhD scholars who have passed comprehensive
examination may apply for a six month placement at University of California, Davis, USA under Exchange Scholar
Program of US Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies-Agriculture and Food Security. The application includes a CV and
one page research proposal linked to the broader themes of the center. Those who have applied already are directed to
add one page research proposal with their applications. The Deans/Directors/Chairpersons/Supervisors are requested to

contact the students using all means of communication for submission of application along with research proposal as
early as possible but not later than 10-09-2015.
POSTGRADUATE SEMIFINAL AND FINAL THESIS DATE EXTENDED
The Postgraduate students who are likely to complete their thesis during Summer Session, 2015 are required to submit
their thesis according to the following schedule: Last date for submission of semifinal thesis 12-09-2015 and last date for
submission of final thesis: 19-09-2015. Students must submit E/30 forms before the submission of semi-final thesis,
otherwise, their thesis will not be accepted/entertained. No further extension will be granted under any circumstances.
CORRIGENDUM (DATE EXTENDED)
In continuation of the earlier advertisement published in
daily Dawn, and Dunya (25-07-2015), Daily Jang, and
Ghareeb (26-07-2015) vide SPL # 1446 the date for
submission applications for the subject scholarships has
been extended upto September 15, 2015 during office
hours. The eligibility criteria and other terms and

It is a matter of great honour for UAF that Mr. Ali Raza, Regd. No. 2011-ag-2817, B.Sc. Agri. Eng. Student of our
University selected as player of HEC Badminton team and got Bronze medal in National Badminton Championship 2015
held at University of the Punjab, Lahore from 5-9 August, 2015. The Directorate of Sports conveys heartiest

WALK IN INTERVIEW
Services of 2 un-skilled DPL (Level-I) with the qualification of Matric Science with 1st division, Age limit 18-35 @ Rs.

room. The topic of her thesis is “Characterization and Metal Coordination Studies of a Novel Metallo-β-

2. Mr. Faiz Rasool, Regd. No. 2003-ag-1887, PhD student from the Department of Forestry and Range
Management will defend his PhD thesis in the seminar room of Department of Forestry and Range Management,
UAF on 05-09-2015 at 11:30 am. All the concerned are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend and

contribute for improving the thesis. The title of his thesis is “Ecology and Ethnobotany of Acacia Jacquemontii
Benth. in Thal Desert”.
3. Mr. Umair Safdar, PhD student of the Institute of Agri. Extension and Rural Development will defend his PhD
thesis on 05-09-2015 at 11:30 am in the video conference room, UAF. The title of his thesis is “An in-depth study
to formulate research based public agricultural extension policy guidelines in the Punjab, Pakistan”. All interested

conference room (DLC-2), UAF on 27-08-2015 at
06:30 pm. The title of her thesis is “Somatic
hybridization for Kinnow improvement”.
QUOTATIONS
1. Sealed quotations from sale tax registered firms
are invited for the purchase of Electric Balance
(Shimadzu Japan) by the PI, HEC Project A/C No.
79012566-03/HBL, titled “Effect of maturity stages
at harvest on the nutritive value and is situ rumen
degradation characteristics of maize, sorghum and
millet”, Institute of Animal Sciences, UAF. The
rates should be without any over writing and
quotation should be accompanied with a deposit
call @ 2% of the estimated cost as earnest
money. The quotations must reach in the office of
the PI Dr. Mubarak Ali of the project within 7 days
after the publication of this notice. Specification can be seen.
2. Sealed bids are invited for the purchase of Air Conditioner under the Project No. 221 titled “Assessing climatic
vulnerability and projecting crop productivity using integrated crop and economic modeling techniques” funded by
Agricultural Model Inter-comparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP Phase-II), USA in the Department of
Agronomy (Agro-Climatology Lab) from the registered firms of the UAF for purchase of Air Conditioner within 7
days after the publication of this notice. Details of the specifications can be seen in persons in the office of the

AUCTION NOTICE
1. 100 kanal charri (Fodder) in square No. 23, will be sold by open auction on 05-09-2015 at 10:00 am at PARS
Farm, Jhang Road, Faisalabad. The persons, who are interested, may come & bid. One third of the total price
will be recovered on the spot and the remaining amount will be paid after the approval of competent authority.
The price will be realized at the spot. Under section 236A of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 Advance Income Tax
@ 10% of the sale proceeds will be collected from successful bidders and deposited in to government treasury
through Income Tax Challan. The competent authority reserves the right to accept or reject the highest bid
