Our Mission: Equip the family of God to be Jesus in the home, the community and the world.

Restoring the BrokenLast week we asked the following question during our teaching time, “What do I do when the walls of my life collapse?” We focused on three truths in response to that question as we reminded you to constantly re-mind one another...

• We are a consecrated (set apart) people by the blood of Jesus Christ.

• We are restored into full fellowship with God through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

• We are never alone because through our fellowship with Him, we are in fellowship with one another.

Difficulty will come to all of us in various ways and at various times to varying degrees. But God is and will remain faithful to those He loves. As we continue our study of Nehemiah this week, we focus on a new iteration of the question we posed last week. Today, we ask (and hopefully an-swer), “What do we do as the body of Christ when the walls of someone else’s life collapse?”

We will explore Nehemiah chapter 4 to begin answering that question. As you prepare your hearts for being in the Word today, I ask you to keep this one truth in mind, “There is a big difference between fighting with someone and fighting for someone.” I’ll have much to say about the latter during today’s sermon.

One last thing - thanks so much for taking the congregational survey! We look forward to sharing the feedback with you within the next few weeks. May God be glorified in all we say and do!

Preacher Selection Committee News/Updates

Congregational Survey - Today is the last day to take the survey! We have had over 225 responses and we need more! If you have not taken the survey yet, please make time to do so today. The committee will be reviewing the data in the coming days and the final results will be given to the elders for review. We expect we will be able to share the results with the congregation by the end of August or early in September.

Prayer - There is a special “prayer & worship” service scheduled during our worship time on Sunday morning, September 5th. Please mark your calendars and plan to be in attendance. We all know how important prayer is for us as Christians, so keep lifting those prayers up to Him to bless this process!

Any questions? If you have any questions about the work the committee is doing, or about the IMP search process, please email us at [email protected]. We will reach out to you and be happy to explain everything we know!

Outreach OpportunityJessica Phillips, one of our newer mem-bers, has began a wonderful opportunity for our Mesa family to help those in need on a daily basis and show the love of Christ. It is also a great tool to help us remember what matters most and gain some insight into the lives of people who might not materially have as much as we do! Jessica has put together a number of packs that are available on a table in the foyer--please feel free to take some to have in your car to hand out as you see someone who could use one. To the right is a list of items that would be great to donate to be included in these ziplock packs.

• Toothbrush, Toothpaste and/or Floss

• Tampons and/or Sanitary Napkins• Shampoo and/or Conditioner• Toilet Paper and/or small Kleenex

Coordinator NeededA big thank you to Amber Anderson for coordinating meals to new moms for a number of years. She is needing to step away from this for now, so we are in need of a new coordinator. Amber is willing to assist a new coordinator with knowledge of setting up Meal Train online and giving pointers to a new leader. Call the office if you would be willing to take on this much-appreciated service!

Lowell Elementary Back-to-School Request

In past years, we have prepared back-to-school bags for the teach-ers at Lowell Elementary, as well as some other elementary schools in our immediate area. In lieu of that this year, Annette Campbell visited with the new principal at Lowell this past week and learned of a way we can directly help some of their students get a good start to their year! Most of their students walk to school, and some do not have good walking (gym) shoes. The school is in need of shoes, in various sizes, that they can offer to these children as the need arises. It would be helpful to make sure purchased shoes come in a box--the school will need to stack and organize these.

In order to have the variety of sizes needed, we will organize this in a similar manner to our adopt-a-family at Christmas. Three op-tions for helping with this:

1. Stop by the table in the foyer and pick up a card repre-senting each size for which you will shop.

2. Email Renda or JoAnne in the office to request an as-signed size for which you will shop.

3. Make a donation to be merged with other donations and used by shoppers to purchase shoes. Cash donations can

be placed in an envelope with “shoes” marked on it, donations by check need to have “shoes” in the memo section, and/or donations online need to be followed by an email to the office making us aware that it is for “shoes”.
