Vol. 41 No. 02 Cabin Fever Quilters’ Guild FEBRUARY 2019
1
Northern Comfort
PRESIDENT’S PIECE
Can you believe that it is February already? Where did January go? I was over-whelmed with the volunteerism demonstrated at the January guild meeting. Thank you to everyone that volunteered: Pat and Dorothy for doing raffle tick-
ets and Joann to be the Raffle quilt transporter and publicist, Sue G for taking over the Secret Pals, Kathy R for taking over the Small Quilt Auction, Bonnie post forbecoming our new Sunshine Sue, Dorothy S, Karyn, and Diane for working on the new Guild banner, and Amy H, Sue G, and Michele W. for doing the Audit of the books. Again thank you so much. Now for the bad news. There are still more things to volunteer for in the future. Think about helping out.
Now for fun, Quilt Slushy is coming up. The forms are on the web site and examples will hopefully be at the Feb. meeting. Let’s all create something great.
Happy Quilting, and remember the Fair is coming and may we all enter something this year.
Happy Quilting, Ellen

CFQG BOARD MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 8, 2019, 4:15 PM
NOEL WIEN LIBRARY, MEETING ROOM #1
Members present: Kat Helmuth, Presiding; Sue Culley; Mary Olson; Kelly MacDonald; Carol Moore;
Pat Fox; and Karyn Janssen
I. Carol Moore brought up the subject of how to get the directory to members who have not come
to the meeting to pick up a hard copy in order to avoid the costs of mailing them out. There was
some discussion of how to securely make it available online. It is a question for Ellen Daley or
Linda Stephenson.
II. Sue Culley announced that the Federal Tax return has been filed; she will not be present at the
next guild meeting, but will make a Treasurer’s report available for the meeting. She announced
that she will probably not be available for the 3rd
Tuesday in October Annual Meeting, and re-
quested a date change for that meeting, as there is a lot of financial stuff that happens around
that time. Some discussion followed regarding other times we have changed the meeting date.
No motions or decisions made. Perhaps this needs to be voted on by entire guild, before raffle
tickets are printed. Regarding the raffle quilt, Bargello-style, it is almost pieced, and Sue will quilt
it. She said we need a person to be in charge of raffle tickets, as well as someone to be in charge
of getting publicity out regarding raffle quilt, and getting it hung at Morris Thompson Center and
at the TVS Fair.
III. There was some discussion regarding duties of committee chairs and written reports that need to
be filed for record keeping. We need to form a committee to review bylaws and make sure that
there is sufficient info available to folks who may volunteer, so that they know what their respon-
sibilities are, without continually ‘reinventing the wheel’.
IV. Kat reminded us that at the January Meeting we would be doing an ‘Ugly Fabric Exchange’, with
Fat 1/4s or 1/2 yards, with finished projects showing up at the March General Meeting.
Meeting adjourned 5:15 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Karyn Janssen
