Incidence of varicocele is 19-40% among infertile men

Mechanism of varicocele causing male infertility unknown

It is probably only a variation in the normal anatomy of

testicular venous drainage

NICE guidelines(2013) do not recommend surgery for

varicocelectomy among infertile men as it does not

improve pregnancy rates

IUI or IVF/ICSI recommended mode of treatment

Assess the well being of babies born out of

IVF/ICSI(fresh/frozen embryo transfers)

Incidence of congenital anomalies is 4%

No genito-urinary abnormalities observed in babies born

out of severe male factor fathers

Findings reassuring as they conform with that of natural

pregnancies in terms of congenital anomalies, growth and

development.

Dental procedures should be carried out on the day after

dialysis

Dosage of drugs excreted through kidney should be

lowered

Require special care

Consultation with nephrologist is essential before dental

treatment is carried out
