I have purchased many parts from your store to rebuild my 1951 Chevy Fleetline and I have to say that you were the best people to deal with for parts and supplies for my project. I completed my car in 2012 but I thought you would like to see the finished product. The car is powered with a 283 Chevy with throttle body fuel injection and has a 200 4r transmission. The front suspension is a Heidts Mustang II with Chassis engineering rear suspension. It also has power windows, power bucket seats, air conditioning, custom console and custom interior. The headliner as well as much of the chrome including the bumpers and various fasteners all came from National Chevy. All work was done by myself and friends except the seats. I really enjoy driving and showing this car and appreciate the help I received from the people at National Chevy. If you decide to use these pictures in your newsletter, I would appreciate a copy of the newsletter sent to my address as follows.

Cutaway Car ___________________________ Our Cutaway Car was a big hit at the Back to the 50’s Show. It was built to show new products we are working on and should have available soon. The car is painted bright yellow, turquoise, some red and balck and catches everyone’s eye. It seems like the guys had a fun time building it (everyone working on it is about 70). A list of some of the parts is on the next couple pages.

It was 18 years ago that I purchased, “Marilyn”, a 1954 Chevrolet 4 door 210 model, I’ll say, in workable condition. The goal I set out to reach was to take a 4 door, go mild custom, and to capture a person’s first glance. The detail combined with nostalgia has them spend a few moments looking around and asking questions. “What are those rubber straps dragging in the back?” “Is that the original color?” “What and why are those wires things on the passenger side of the car?” It started 18 years ago collecting all the accessories and parts first because I saw things were starting to dry up when it came to finding things. All the parts were restored and shelved and waited until the car was finished and ready for assembly. It was a frame off and rotisserie restoration with a lot of thought and discussions with some older guys that had one, hot rodded them, or raced the 235 and 261’s on the old dirt tracks. The “Genuine Rat” 235 was bored .60 over, with a 383 head, and a vintage Howard ¾ mild cam. Fenton cast headers are used with now discontinued 30 series Flow Masters for strip use. Two modified Rochester’s are on an Offy intake and an ’86 Chevrolet V6 electronic ignition and super coil sits on the other side. Electronic fuel pump is

on the frame, battery is below the trunk, and the tranny cooler was replaced with the twister also on the frame. A custom aluminum radiator keeps things cool. The 4th door was enhanced by lowering and lengthening using 2-1/2 ” dropped spindles, lowered 3” in the rear, open faced continental kit, external sun visor, and 1953 Pontiac rear door belt trim. The dash was finished in matte clear and the interior sun visors are two toned like the famous 1954 Moonglow custom. The 210 was converted to a BelAir, interior door panels are 210 with vertical pleats, the seat pattern is ’53 convertible, and the trunk has ’55 BelAir interior door trim. There is a ’56 V on the lid and script inside on the trunk header with ’54 hardtop dome lighting. Up front is ’53 Cadillac Eldorado head light rings like the guys would steal off the Caddy’s and put on their Chevys back then. The paint is close to the Bermuda green and shoreline beige but used Chrysler’s cool vanilla and Fords jewel green. Thanks to NCA for helping us enjoy our hobby with the parts services you provide.

________________________________Now ShowingHi Sharon, It was nice talking to you the other day. This is my 1953 Limo. It was just a shell when I purchased it. It put a 1977 Nova front end under it and the rear end is Nova also. All the glass was gone, no interior. It has a 6 cyl. 1969 Chevy in it with its Nova automatic power steering and power brakes. Lots of rust and remanufacturing to get it going. I will be working on it for a long time to come, but at least it’s drivable now. Your parts are a life saver for me and the Limo. Be ordering soon.
