Thank You! Gracias! Merci!

I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. ~ Ezekiel 34:26

Our new year began with a flood—a flood of clients. In just the brief 4 days after the New Year’s holiday, we saw 28 new clients, many of whom were contemplating abortion. We also began with a flood of rain, which was much needed; but it impacted our facility, as well as our surrounding community.

All this abundance led me to contemplate the abundance with which we have also been showered since our last newsletter.

A few of our “showers of blessings” are:

The ever-generous George Foundation, who bestowed a grant on our Center.

The incredible efforts of the dedicated Knights of Columbus from all the surrounding parishes, who continue to work very hard to raise both the funds needed for the ultra-sound machine which we will purchase, as well as other related expenses.

The wonderful Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation members are also enabling us to move forward with becoming Pregnancy Medical Center (PMC) with their support.

We know, statistically, that when we have our PMC up and running, the number of clients we see will grow and the number of abortion-vulnerable clients will increase. The PRC’s dedicated staff and volunteer counselors are so excited about the transition and all the opportunities it will open up for us to be able to help our clients even more than we do now, and right here in our own facility!

So, as the clouds outside gather, and I am here contemplating this verse, I realize that WE are His “hill”, and he promises us a shower of blessings. I can’t wait to see what this next year brings us as we begin offering ultrasounds to our clients, with the tremendous help our wonderful supporters. ~ Tama Chunn, Executive Director

PRC Medical Conversion Update...

Our Center just completed the 2-day consultation with our NIFLA (National Institute of Family and Life Advocates) consultant. We want to thank our board who gave up much of their weekend to ensure we understand the responsibilities and commitment we are making as we move forward to becoming a Pregnancy Medical Center (PMC), offering ultrasound to our clients. In addition to our great board, all of our staff and several volunteers participated in the Friday evening overview session. Thank you for your

sacrifices.

To bring you up to date, we have set the goal of “going

medical” by the end of the third quarter of 2012.

As we go forward, we are grateful that a local physician has stepped forward to consider becoming our volunteer Medical Director. Please keep this individual in your

prayer, as the he considers this vital role for our Center.

In conjunction with accelerating the timeline for our conversion, we are also poised to begin the process for seeking a part-time licensed nurse ultrasonographer who shares our Center’s goals. Please also keep this pivotal

need in your thoughts and prayers.

This is a tremendous time of change, but we know this is where our Lord is leading us. Time

and again, “coincidences” have confirmed that we are on the path He has for us at the PRC.

During the training, it was again stressed to us that when centers convert to medical center

status, they experience many benefits including: an increase in total number of patients seen

throughout the year, an increase in the number of abortion-minded patients seen; and a

dramatic increase in the percentage of clients seen who choose life.

We are on the threshold of significant changes and with change often comes struggle. Please keep us in your hearts and prayers, asking for a smooth transition for everyone involved, and

please remember our Center as you sit to write checks each month.

Thanks & God Bless You Angie Borges, Chairman

Pro-bono Attorney - This position is critical for PRC to be able to open our doors as a medical center. We have an urgent need to

have a pro-life attorney become our legal advisor to help us in our transition and in an on-going legal capacity. If you or someone

you know is interested, please contact the PRC Executive Director, Tama Chunn at 281-232-2375.

Nurse Manager - This is a part-time position. Our Nurse Manager will be in charge of our Ultrasound Program and will be given

training through NIFLA’s TLC program. IF you are an RN with ultrasound experience and have a heart for our mission, we would

love to hear from you. Please contact our Executive Director, Tama Chunn at 281-232-2375.

Financial Support - Regardless of where we are during this process, please know there are substantial increased costs associated

with providing ultrasounds to our clients. We need your support and if you are interested, we would welcome a meeting with you to

discuss projected program costs in detail. Please give Tama Chunn or Angie Borges a call at 281-232-2375, or email them at

[email protected] or [email protected].

Pregnancy Resource Center Clients!

Pregnancy Resource Center of Fort Bend County (PRC) is honored once again to help our clients during this Christmas season. On two occasions, Santa visited our Cen-ter with smiles, winks and ringing bells. It was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up as they got a picture sitting on Santa’s knee and receive a candy cane and goodie bag. Their mothers, who participate in our Learn Earn Plan Pro-gram or visited our Center during the last year experiencing a crisis pregnancy, were also grateful to receive Christmas gifts for their family. We want to thank the following for the wonderful donation of gifts: The Encouragers of Sugar Creek Baptist, ABC Dental, Sacred Heart Teresians, Beauti Control representatives, the Rosenberg Fire Department, St. Thomas Aquinas Youth(picture on right), Community Health Choice, Subway, Pizza Hut, Cici’s Pizza, and other

generous individuals.

In addition to Santa Clause coming to our Center with these gifts, qualified parents were able to sign up with “Smiles on Wheels,” a program started four years ago by Dr. Iraj Jabbary from ABC Dental. PRC representatives, Dr. Jabbary and staff (pictured below) visited the home of one of our PRC clients whose family is experiencing financial and medical crises. This family of eight received five bikes,

many gifts and even some Christmas decorations.

Thank you so much to everyone who has given in support our Pregnancy Resource Center clients this Christ-

mas Season and all year round!

40 Days for Life!

From March 22nd to April 21st, our com-

munity is once again uniting with other cities

around the world for the largest and longest

pro-life mobilization in history: the 40 Days

for Life campaign. Recognizing that “with

God all things are possible,” people of faith

are praying that this effort will help bring an

end to the tragedy of abortion.

40 Days for Life has already mobilized over 500,000 people worldwide, saved more

than 3,500 lives from abortion, led to the conversion of 43 abortion workers, and seen

nine abortion facilities close. 40 Days for Life is made up of three components:

Prayer and Fasting: believers throughout our area are invited to join together for 40

days of fervent prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.

• Peaceful Vigil: stand for life during a 40-day peaceful public witness, 7am to 7pm,

outside the Rosenberg Planned Parenthood near our office at 4203 Ave. H (please

stop in and visit us if we are open), or the Stafford Planned Parenthood, 3727 Green-

briar Drive, Ste 118. Chemical abortions are offered at this location.

The annual “Baby Bottle Boomerang” fundraiser is in full swing. Local churches will have baby bottles available for members to take home and fill with coins, bills and checks in support of PRC. We are so grateful to the participants of this important fundraiser. Last year baby bottles were filled with over $53,000 in donations! If you would like to participate in the Baby Bottle Boomerang, please contact Angie Borges, 281-232-2375.

The Pregnancy Resource Center’s Learn Earn Plan participants were grateful for the Turkeys and baskets of Thanksgiving dinner items! This is the third year that Grandview Fellowship Church has been involved with our LEP group. “It is a great way to connect by getting out of the pews and into the community,” states Pastor Chuck Oak. “We meet at the church to put the baskets together. Then we caravan over to the Pregnancy Center and meet and pray for the LEP family.” A big thank you to the Crabb River HEB for helping with the turkeys.
