VoiceThread is a tool that allows the user to combineimagery and personal commentary to create unique presentation projects.

To register your new account, enter your first and last name,E-mail address, and password.

Once you’ve created your account,Click on the “Create” tab to create a new VoiceThread project.

The first step in creating a new VoiceThread project is uploading theimages that you want touse.

There are 4 sources that youcan upload images from:• your computer• Media sources (such as Flickr or Facebook• directly from a website• a webcamera

Most of the time youwill upload images that are saved on your computer.

Browse and select the images that youwant to upload intoyour VoiceThreadproject.

Once you haveselected the images that youwant to use,you can re-arrangetheir order as needed.

Click on the “Comment” linklocated in the bottom rightof the screen to submit a comment

Notice that there are severalways in which a comment canbe added to a VoiceThread project.

There are 5 methods that youcan contribute commentary toa VoiceThread project.

• Using your phone• Using your webcam• Using a microphone• Using your keyboard• Uploading an audio comment from your computer

Most likely, you willnot use a phone orwebcam to submitcommentary on a VoiceThread project,so it won’t be covered here.

When using a microphone to submitcommentary, you will be prompted to allow the program access to yourmicrophone.

After VoiceThread isallowed access toyour microphone,VoiceThread willbegin recordingimmediately.Press the “Stop Recording”button when you want to stop.You will prompted to either save orcancel the commentary.

Once a commentary issaved, it canbe playedon the left sideof the screen.

The commentarycan be deleted if you want.

As mentioned earlier,you can also type in commentary for yourVoiceThread project.

The commentary boxis located in the lowerleft of the screen.Highlight and delete the default text in order to enter your own commentary.

Don’t forget to give your project a title!

You will have the option ofcopying and sharing the linkof your project, inviting your friends to view it, sending the link in an e-mail,or embedding the project in a wiki or blog.

is only available in the “Professional” version of VoiceThread

The “Playback Options”menu allows you to choose how you wouldlike your VoiceThreadproject to be displayed.

Note that some of theservices are only available in the “Professional” versionof VoiceThread(which is not free!)

You are able to embed yourVoiceThread project in a wide variety of social media outlets, such as theones shown on the left…

If you want to embed the project into a blog or wiki,the embed code is shownhere. Copy and paste the embedcode as needed!

Publishing OptionsPublishing Options

The “Publishing Options” link provides the user with choices as to how theywould like their project tobe accessible, as well as whether comments fromvisitors are allowes.

Once your VoiceThread has been saved, it is viewable on the“MyVoice” tab, as well as other sample projects.

You can search for VoiceThread projects from other users by using the search function!
