Forty Days of Prayer

I was encouraged by the message our Elders shared with us Sunday night and especially in their call for us as a church to spend the next 40 days in specific prayer over them and where God is leading us. While prayer is a part of our daily routine as Christians anyway, calling for this special season of prayer over the specific message which they shared yes-terday evening will be a tremendous start to great things and perhaps even a turning point in the life of this congregation. I am so very thankful for each one of these men who serve as shepherds of this flock at Washington Street and I’m blessed to be working with them. I can tell you that they take their responsibility very seriously and have spent a great amount of time in prayer themselves over what they have heard from the congregation and also for God to direct their steps. Let me also admonish each one of you to be in prayer each day specifically for these men, their families and for God to lead us where He would have us go!

If you weren’t able to be with us, you can view the slide presentation, listen to the message or watch via Facebook Live all from our web site.

Magi Boxes

It is time once more for Magi box preparation! Beginning THIS Sunday, Sept. 2nd, empty Magi boxes will be available in the foyer and fellowship hall for pickup. Each family is asked to take one or two home, fill it with loads of Christmas goodies (there will be a list of suggested items available with each box) and bring them back no later than Sunday, Sept. 23rd. As always, donations will be accepted to help cover the cost of Spanish-language Bibles AND shipping. The cost is $7 per box to ship. Our boxes are shipped to Honduras and directly benefit our ongoing work there as well as many, many others!

Grandparents Day… Sept. 9th

This year we have celebrated motherhood on Mothers’ Day… we have honored Godly Fathers on Fathers’ Day and on September 9th we want to recognize the wonderful work of Grandparents at Washington St.!
