topSPEECH-Lydia® A speech system that has it all!

Recently voice has set the tone in warehouses as speech-based applications provide the greatest potential for innovation. With topSPEECH-Lydia®, topsystem has answered market demands offering a state of the art solution to the supply chain.

topSPEECH-Lydia® frees the worker from unnecessary moves, i.e. the handling of paper lists or scanning devices are now in the past. Speech-applications optimize ergonomics and maximize smooth and expeditious workflow in part by leaving hands and eyes free for essential work steps.

The preliminary written instructions on an MDE video display terminal are replaced by spoken work instructions through a headset. Voice entry by microphone replaces data input via keyboard or scanner. With voice picking, the

users experience immediate increase in efficiency and cost saving as only few select speech commands are used for repetitive work actions.

Speech entry and output is performed locally on the user‘s client equipment. The entered data is transmitted by radio communication to an interface computer. Our client-based speech entry allows the implementation of applications in areas not fully radio-covered, such as outdoor or free field applications.

topSPEECH-Lydia® understands any language, even mul-tiple languages in one application (typical for warehouse environments).

Speechserver-software: The administration of speech profiles is performed on a standard state-of-the-art Windows or Linux server.

Radio data transmission: topSPEECH-Lydia® using current radio data transmission standards such as IEEE 802.11 b/g topSPEECH-Lydia® can be integrated into existing radio networks.

Interfaces: topSPEECH-Lydia® can integrate directly with existing warehouse management and ERP systems via database or file interface, which means that the speech-based application (Pick by Voice) can easily be integrated into existing logistics systems. topSPEECH-Lydia® is the only speech system which works 100% online with SAP.

The VOXter® is optimally designed, down to the last detail with its high-performance and robust compo-nents, and meet the high requirements demanded by daily working routines. For that reason the VOXter® has been equipped with an industrial-strength, 9-pole plug-in connection with push-pull-interlock connector which can be inserted and extracted quickly and easi-ly while ensuring a stable connection to the headset. Like all our products, the VOXter® is based on industry standards, and runs on Windows CE 5.0 by Microsoft. For that reason, the VOXter® can be easily integrated and supported into existing IT infrastructures. The con-nection of additional devices, such as the barcode scan-ner VOXter®-S, is also possible via Bluetooth technology.

VOXter®-RFID

In the manufacturing and retail industry, and especially in logistics, RFID technology is gaining significant value. The advantage of this new technology is clear: Through the use of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), data can be cap-tured and stored via radio recognition. This allows for the simultaneous capture of multiple data types about articles or shipments, which is then forwarded immediately to the supply chain management system.

Special importance is attributed to RFID technology when sensitive and dynamic product information has to be com-prehensively documented: best before dates, specific in-gredients or storage temperature for example are important criteria for many industry branches; from food and chemi-cals, up to the pharmaceutical and spare parts industries.

With the VOXter-RFID® topVOX introduces a high-perfor-mance, mobile RFID reader, which is optimally suited for everyday use in any warehouse environment. The robust, shock-resistant cover of the VOXter®-RFID reliably pro-tects against dust, dirt and humidity. The device is small and compact and can be worn comfortably on the back of the hand. Thus, the VOXter®-RFID integrates smoothly into the workflow and is ideally suited for the use with voice applications (Pick by Voice), since the picker works “hands and eyes free”.
