Highlights of the performance features of the voice control system are:• Voice command of cellular telephone• Voice command of audio components• Voice command of navigation system• Voice command of global directory• Improvement in handsfree quality with noise reduction and echo compensation• Speaker familiarization training• Voice output for interactive dialog• Activation of system by push to talk (PTT) lever• Help function for the user

Principal new features:• Voice-activated input of navigation system (locality namescan be spoken directly or spelled, depending on length,street names, centers or intersections have to be spelled)• Improved handsfree quality as a result of repositioningmicrophones in interior mirror (4 microphones)

The voice recognition system control module is linked to the othercomponents via the MOST.

The microphones in the interior rearview mirror are read in via the voicerecognition system control module. The signals are digitized in the controlmodule and the microphone data processed with noise reduction and echocompensation.
