Jan. 17, 2019 We had another great group of nominees this month (154). It was almost twice as large as this time last year. I want to give a special commendation to the Marklund Wasmond Center for really stepping it up this month with 43 nominations. Great job! I want to thank each of you who take the time to submit one of your fellow staff and recognize them for this honor. I know that it means a lot because I see staff wearing their stickers and saving past recognitions. Do remember to actually give your honoree the sticker! Just as a reminder, both the
honoree and those who nominate them get a gift card. The three persons selected for this month are Ian Smith (MDS), Desiree Trzaska (MWC) and Caitlen
Vick (MHC). The first person recognized is Ian Smith. He is a Parapro at the Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale. He has only been at the school since November. He had four nominations but he also submitted five for his fellow staff. A great combination! He was recognized for staying “very calm and confident” in stressful situations. He was cited for being a very good listener to the concerns of his fellow staff and for being a great team player. Ian is recognized for his compassion and teamwork. The next person is Desiree Trzaska. Desiree is a PSP at the Marklund Wasmond Center. She will soon be coming up on her first anniversary at MWC. She had three nominators. She was recognized for staying past her shift to help and in another how she stepped up to help a fellow staff with their assignments. Her positive attitude and kindness were also recognized. Desiree is recognized for her attitude and teamwork. And last but not least is Caitlen Vick. Caitlen is a PSP at the Marklund Hyde Center. She will soon be coming up on her 4th anniversary at Marklund! She also had three nominations. She was recognized for all she did to help her DT classroom look amazing for the December open house. She was cited for how she comes to work every day “with a smile” and how patient and welcoming she is to our new staff. She is a real leader whom other staff look to for guidance. Caitlen is recognized for her attitude, creativity and teamwork. Again, congratulations to all but a special commendation to Ian Smith, Desiree Trzaska and Caitlen
Vick.
